Description

The Health AI organization is looking for an SDM to join AWS HealthLake. Amazon HealthLake (AHL) is a HIPAA eligible service for ingestion, storage and analysis of healthcare data that operates in CMH, IAD, PDX and BOM regions. We allow hospitals, doctor’s offices, insurance and life sciences companies to manage, search and run analytics on medical record data stored in AWS using the Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) standard. Functionally, AHL is both a transactional datastore and a datalake for analytics integration. The system consists of FrontEnd, MetaData, Control Plane and Data Plane service components. The Control Plane services provide customer facing APIs for manipulating data stores. The Data Plane services provide customer facing APIs for manipulating FHIR resources within data stores.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to define the long-term vision and strategy for the team, while leading the development, operations, and ongoing maintenance of high-impact services. You will lead a 2-pizza team of SDEs in Seattle focused on Data Ingestion. As the leader of the team, you will evolve the team’s charter, establish AWS OE best practices for the services and build relationships with partner AWS service teams. You will also partner with the product team to define product roadmap and vision for the team.
