Description

Come help Amazon create and deploy cutting edge technologies to deliver packages to the customer's doorstep! As a Software Development Manager in the Last Mile Payments team, you will be instrumental in building a next generation payments platform handling billions of dollars for the Last Mile business. The Last Mile Payments team supports multiple businesses globally, creating the technology that supports payments for delivery businesses such as Prime Now, Amazon Fresh, Amazon Restaurants, Amazon Lockers, and other current and new initiatives.

The successful candidate is expected to be a hands-on technical manager who understands and sets a high bar for all parts of the software development and deployment life-cycle including: design, development, documentation, testing and operations. You must possess strong verbal and written communication skills, be self-driven and deliver high quality results in a fast paced environment. We're looking for people who are smart and can get things done.



Qualifications

- 3+ years of engineering team management experience

- 7+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience

- 3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

- 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience

- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations

- Experience partnering with product or program management teams



Extended Qualifications

- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy

- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers

- Experience in many disparate technologies, typically ranging from front-end user interfaces through to back-end systems and all points in between

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $166,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $287,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
