The AWS Security team owns security for all of these services offered by AWS, including EC2, S3, and many others. As a Software Development Manager (SDM) at AWS Security, you work on raising the bar of security at AWS and for hundreds of millions of customers around the world. You can expect to design flexible and scalable solutions, and work on some of the most complex challenges in security by utilizing your skills in data structures, algorithms, software development, Machine Learning, and object-oriented programming.Along with complex problems to solve, we provide you a world class work environment and a chance to work with the industry most talented team members in the data engineering and software development space. You will lead on how to design, build, test, and implement scalable solutions.

The AWS Security Team is looking for an experienced Software Development Manager to play a key role in building a new team to support security services that will be used by all AWS service teams and our customers. The ideal candidate will be passionate about leading a team to build the next generation of scalable and fast distributed systems on industry leading technologies.

Qualifications
- 3+ years of engineering team management experience- 7+ years of engineering experience
- 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams
Extended Qualifications
- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon also offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, Basic Life & AD&D insurance and option for Supplemental life plans, EAP, Mental Health Support, Medical Advice Line, Flexible Spending Accounts, Adoption and Surrogacy Reimbursement coverage), 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
