The Fuse tech team is an innovative and high-energy team that is working on Amazon Fuse, a wholesale subscription service that enables 3rd party enterprises with billing and distribution capabilities. Fuse has created a one stop integration point for service teams (e.g. Prime, Music, Video, Kindle, Audible, and more) to be able to offer their subscription services through the top global partners who collectively offer subscriber billing services to more than 4B consumers. While we use existing Amazon systems when possible, you’ll be working on challenging problems that need innovative solutions.

As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work with internal partner teams (Prime, Music, Prime Video, Subscriptions, etc.), as well as external partners, faciliating business innovations while maintaining a high technical standard of the core system.

The ideal candidate is passionate about technology and scaling, with a strong commitment to operational excellence and standard operating procedures. The right candidate will champion data-driven decision making, prioritize customer trust, and actively work to automate repetitive processes while supporting partners and end customers on a global scale. Key job responsibilities

Service & Technical Oversight

* Manage ownership of multiple critical platform level services, enabling the Fuse business

* Oversee service architecture, scalability, and technical direction across the service portfolio

Team Management

* Lead a 2-pizza team with diverse technical backgrounds

* Mentor and develop junior team members to grow their technical and leadership capabilities

* Manage team operations including scrum processes, design reviews, and weekly operational reviews

Operational Excellence

* Drive operational excellence through service dashboards, runbooks, and best practices

* Ensure high standards for service reliability and on-call processes

* Introduce and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for team operations

Strategic Leadership

* Make data-driven decisions aligned with team tenets

* Balance partner, integrator, and end customer needs on a global scale

* Allocate resources to automate repetitive internal processes

* Champion innovation including GenAI initiatives for the Fuse platform

* Manage feature intake, project planning, and delivery timelines

Cross-functional Collaboration

* Coordinate with Product, TPM, TAM, Operations, and other stakeholders

* Ensure customer trust and long-term value over short-term gains



Qualifications

- 3+ years of engineering team management experience

- 7+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience

- 3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

- 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience

- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations

- Experience partnering with product or program management teams



Extended Qualifications

- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy

- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $166,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $287,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
