We’re looking for a Software Development Manager (SDM) who is passionate about building high-performing engineering teams while fostering a culture of collaboration, growth, and innovation. As an SDM, you will set the long-term technical vision for your team, influence the tech roadmap, and drive incremental improvements in architecture optimization. Key job responsibilities

- Define and drive the technical direction and architecture for large, complex software systems, ensuring scalability, performance, and long-term sustainability.

- Collaborate with Product Management, User Experience, internal technical teams, and leadership to identify business opportunities, shape the product roadmap, and deliver end-to-end solutions.

- Hire, develop, and mentor high-performing engineers, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented team culture that enables both individual and team success.

- Provide technical leadership throughout the product lifecycle, championing engineering best practices and ensuring operational excellence for large-scale production services.

- Continuously monitor and report on development progress, quality, and system performance, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical goals.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree

- 5+ years of engineering team management experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $166,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $287,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
