Description

Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.

Have you wanted an opportunity to develop the software applications and services for an advanced global internet connectivity service? The Kuiper SAR Services team is responsible for the software and services that operate on Kuiper Modem on both customer terminal and Satellite. This team oversees the development of architecture, solutions, and a roadmap for managing embedded systems within antennas, as well as applications for site maintenance, telemetry, over-the-air updates, and various other features. As the Software Development Manager of this team, you will guide a group of engineers in addressing these challenges, while also focusing on team development and upholding a high standard for delivery quality.

Export Control Requirement

The SAR (Security and Reliability) team is dedicated to the development and maintenance of cutting-edge security features for the Kuiper project. Our unwavering commitment is to establish and uphold a rigorous security standard capable of defending against even the most sophisticated threats, including those posed by state-level attackers. By implementing robust, innovative, and proactive security measures, the team ensures that Kuiper remains resilient against potential adversaries while fostering trust and reliability for all stakeholders.



Qualifications

- 3+ years of engineering team management experience

- Bachelor's degree

- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations



Extended Qualifications

- Master's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent

- 5+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $166,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $287,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
