Description
Amazon Ads - Publisher Technology (PubTech) is a new exciting program that is building supply-side solutions for our content publishers to sell their inventory and maximize yield/monetization. The PubTech Inventory engineering team is developing features that offer publishers unified and standards-based advertising inventory management system with support for all media types (display, video, audio). Using this system publishers are able to define their advertising inventory configurations and are able communicate with an Ad Server using Common Ads Transport Standard (CATS). We are looking for creative and thoughtful software engineers to collaborate with their peers in creation of solutions for our publishers.This is a unique opportunity with greenfield development to influence the vision, capabilities and architecture and impact the program in its infancy. This Seattle-based team is focused on:
- Designing, implementing, deploying, and supporting globally-available user interfaces and APIs for our publisher partners to use to onboard and configure advertising inventory on PubTech products.
- Creation of low-latency solutions to enrich and resolve inventory configurations during real-time ad bid flow, partnering closely with the publisher ad serving teams within Amazon
- Collaborating with other Amazon advertising teams in inventory based technical solutions.
- Supporting publisher software developers with on-boarding or integration with PubTech inventory management systems.
Key job responsibilities
- Designs and independently implements key features solving difficult software problems for our publishers, potentially spanning multiple areas of Amazon’s advertising ecosystem.
- Solves complex technical problems with simple solutions wherever possible
- Demonstrates knowledge and use of coding and testing best practices
- Influences the team’s technical direction and maintains a high quality bar, having a direct impact on both software quality and experience for our users
- Effectively communicates technical and non-technical ideas to diverse audiences
- Collaborates with peers and mentors to receive guidance, and acts as a mentor to others as required
- Cultivates relationships with partner teams
Qualifications
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
Extended Qualifications
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
- Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
