Alexa Customer Journeys team is looking for a Software Development Engineer in the mission to make Alexa an expert on itself, providing useful information and experiences to customers seeking to take advantage of all of their devices’ features and capabilities.

You will be building solutions and systems working with Large Language Model (LLM) and other generative technologies. You will be working with an interdisciplinary team of Software Development Engineers, Data Scientists and Quality Assurance Engineers, and working with Product Managers to design customer-facing experiences with Alexa, and building solutions to make Alexa an expert in itself.

Key job responsibilities

As a key member of the engineering team, you will have influence on our product and technology strategy by helping define the product features, refine system architecture, and spearhead best practices that enable a quality product for 2024 and beyond. You will be successfully setting up the architecture foundation for the next phase of the product and beyond. A commitment to teamwork, hustle, and strong communication skills (to both business and technical partners) are absolute requirements. A successful candidate will have an established background in engineering large scale software systems, a strong technical ability, great communication skills, and a motivation to achieve results in a fast paced environment.

We are a growing multi-disciplinary team addressing everyday customer needs through a combination of software engineering, web development and applied research.

The Alexa Customer Journeys team builds products and technology that simplifies customers lives. Our products are used by millions of customer, across Amazon devices, WW. Our teams invent on behalf of our customers and have a ton of fun along the way!



Qualifications

- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

- Experience programming with at least one software programming language



Extended Qualifications

- - 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

- - Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
