Description
The Customer Experience and Business Trends team is seeking a passionate and skilled Software Development Engineer (SDE) to help build the next generation of intelligent, multimodal agentic systems at Amazon.As an SDE on our team, you will play a critical role in designing and building large-scale, high-performance systems that power intelligent agent experiences across dynamic app environments. You’ll work closely with Applied Scientists, other SDEs, and product teams.
Key job responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable services and infrastructure that integrate with advanced ML models to enable agentic decision-making and real-time interactions.
- Optimize system performance for low-latency inference and high reliability, ensuring seamless customer experiences at scale.
- Collaborate with science partners to translate model requirements into robust engineering solutions, including data pipelines, APIs, and feature-serving systems.
- Drive software engineering best practices to ensure maintainability, extensibility, and operational excellence for the agentic system.

Customer Experience and Business Trends (CXBT) is an organization made up of a diverse suite of functions dedicated to deeply understanding and improving customer experience, globally. We are a team of builders that develop products, services, ideas, and various ways of leveraging data to influence product and service offerings – for almost every business at Amazon – for every customer (e.g., consumers, developers, sellers/brands, employees, investors, streamers, gamers).
Our approach is based on determining the customer need, along with problem solving, and we work backwards from there. We use technical and non-technical approaches and stay aware of industry and business trends. Qualifications
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
Extended Qualifications
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
