Amazon's Retail Compatibility Experience, a team within Amazon’s Worldwide Stores, helps customers discover accessories and replacement parts across hundreds of product types from automotive parts to digital cameras and memory cards. This exciting, discovery-driven and confidence instilling CX is dedicated to providing customers the information they need when shopping for accessories and replacement parts. All while still finding the best prices on the broadest selection of relevant products.

With our most recent launch in March 2025, it's still early days in the journey and the perfect time to join the team. We're looking for a passionate and experienced Software Development Manager to join our team in Seattle and lead distinct Customer Experience initiatives for Retail Compatibility.

Key job responsibilities

- Lead and manage a two-pizza team of software engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and customer-centricity

- Own distinct customer experiences for Retail Compatibility, including but not limited to detail page experiences, search, recommendations, ads, cart, and checkout

- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and partner teams to define strategy and roadmaps for compelling capabilities

- Drive the overall development lifecycle of solutions and manage complex projects with significant bottom-line impact

- Instill best practices for software development, documentation, and quality assurance

- Ensure designs meet requirements and deliver high-quality work on tight schedules

- Prioritize and plan projects and features, manage stakeholders, and track external commitments

- Oversee operational excellence, including monitoring and operation of production services

- Identify, hire, and develop world-class talent, managing the career growth of your team members



Qualifications

- 3+ years of engineering team management experience

- 7+ years of engineering experience

- 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience

- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations

- Experience partnering with product or program management teams



Extended Qualifications

- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy

- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $166,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $287,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
