Description
World Wide Consumer FinTech (WWCFT) org is looking for hiring talented SDEs to join it's Controllership Engineering team. The team works on solving problems that helps in bringing accuracy, efficiency and optimization in Financial spending over Amazon’s Consumer business. We are constantly thinking about innovative ways of solving problems by leveraging Big Data solutions, AWS Technologies, Data Science and Machine Learning. We are working on re-defining the way in which procurement processes are managed within Amazon, by making it much simpler for our customers to spend money and buy things without having to bother about the financial intricacies.We are looking for individuals who are passionate about creating new products, features, and services from scratch while managing ambiguity and the pace of a company where development cycles are measured in weeks, not years. While this position is for Seattle, WA area, our organization has presence in Austin, TX as well and we will consider candidates preferring Austin as their work location.
Key job responsibilities
- Development of code in OO languages (Java), query languages (SQL), scripting languages (Python)
- Own the entire software lifecycle, from system design to implementation, release, operation, and continuous, iterative improvement.
- Drive best practices and engineering excellence
- Collaborate with experienced cross-disciplinary Amazonians to conceive, design, and bring innovative products and services to market.
- Work in an agile environment to deliver high-quality software.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
Extended Qualifications
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market.
