Description

Amazon is seeking a Software Development Engineer to join the Health Condition Programs (HCP) engineering team. HCP is dedicated to connecting customers with third party health companies to offer programs covered by employers and insurers. The team’s mission is to increase customer awareness about the benefits and services available for various condition management, communicate transparently the cost for these programs, and provide easy steps to sign-up.

We are a full stack team but lean more on front-end development with Javascript and React. Our back-end services written in Java are built on AWS technologies including Lambda, S3, DynamoDb, SQS, ect. Working in Healthcare provides challenging technical problems related to data privacy compliance.

Key job responsibilities

As a Software Dev Engineer II in the Amazon Health Partner Services organization you will design, implement, deploy, test, and maintain a set of services and pages that make up the customer experience for Health Condition Programs. You will participate in an on-call rotation in which you will monitor dashboards, implement security fixes, and investigate and resolve incoming alarms. Finally, you will work with stakeholders such as Product Management and UX to create customer obsessed solutions.

A day in the life

You can expect to spend roughly 50% of your time coding new features, 20% writing documents such as scoping documents, design documents, and runbooks, 15% improving operational maintenance, and 15% of your time in meetings, mentoring junior engineers, and working with internal stakeholders.

About the team

Amazon Health Partner Services is committed to helping customers discover programs for managing various health conditions offered by 3P Digital Health Companies (DHC). In January of 2024 the team launched Amazon Health Condition programs (https://health.amazon.com/health-condition-programs), a product that connects customers with DHCs that are already covered by their insurance/employer. The team’s mission is to increase customer awareness about the benefits and services available for various condition management, communicate transparently the cost for these programs, and provide easy steps to sign-up.



Qualifications

- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

- Experience programming with at least one software programming language



Extended Qualifications

- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
