Description

Security is the epitome of customer obsession!

Amazon Field Experiences (AFX) is hiring for a Security Operations Analyst role. This role focuses on building scalable mechanisms, tools, and products that enable sales & marketing teams to be more secure with a focus on securing access in the Salesforce platform. The opportunities are huge, and the impact is massive.

AWS Sales & Marketing teams use data in complex, high volume ways. Figuring out appropriate roles and access controls to this data is not an easy task. AFX is working to improve this process and enable faster, more tailored access to data. The Security Ops team is core to this mission. We are creating specialists who can recognize common access patterns that tool owners and sales groups don’t recognize, and work with development teams to automate how users can access these patterns.

Individuals on this team will be responsible for managing access control to AFX services and data. Team members will work with business teams to define requirements, policy experts to determine what can be allowed, and service teams to figure out how best-fit polices can be deployed. Individuals on this team will help to build SOPs and runbooks for necessary manual processes, create scripts to identify patterns of concern, and use their hands on experience to define requirements for the Permission Engineering team’s roadmap to build better tools, mechanisms, and automation. Individuals on this team will also be critical in identifying other critical mass pain points from a security operations standpoint that should be secured through root cause analysis.

We are looking for a Security Operations Analyst who is passionate about security and progressing the vision of security in AFX. The ideal candidate will be motivated, have strong technical skills in data manipulation, and will model Amazon Leadership Principles. You will have the opportunity to engage with systems that are at the cutting edge of technology and scale. You will partner with the Permission Engineering team to build the team's roadmap, taking disparate requests from customers, gathering data, and prioritizing security work that will impact Amazon's millions of customers. Customer Obsession, strong Ownership, curiosity, and an ability to deal with ambiguity are critical for this role.

Key job responsibilities

Your day to day job responsibilities will include:

- Extracting, processing, and filtering data to present insights in narrative form around large data sets to create changes in security posture

- Help develop technical solutions and new security tools to mitigate security vulnerabilities and automate repeatable tasks through creation of Product Requirement Documents

- Help configure and troubleshoot security controls in internal AWS tools especially Salesforce

- Researching root causes of issues, to identify process breakdowns and provide insight on potential solutions

- Assist with research and testing of additional security processes and products

- Define the future of access controls from policy and technical lenses

A day in the life

As a Security Operations Analyst you will be in charge of securing AFX systems in terms of data access control. This means looking at the current system and deep diving issues to a root cause. Learning about end-users use cases and assuring their access is not under nor over provisioned. Working with engineering teams to create requirements to automate manual tasks around permissions. Working with policy teams such as legal and security to raise the security and privacy bar. Working cross functionality across AFX and AWS to create the next generation of data access across all systems. You will use large amounts of data to find patterns of concern or create dashboards to measure progress towards our goals.
