Description

We’re looking for talented security professionals who thrive in high energy environments to help us continue to solve security challenges and combat fraud and abuse at massive scale.

In this role, you will leverage your knowledge in multiple domains to define elegant solutions to complex security questions. You will dig in to ambiguous issues spanning business and technical, networking, software, and physical security. You will work hands on with detection systems and vulnerability analysis tools to gather data and root-cause incidents. You will collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to analyze weaknesses and recommend pragmatic solutions that achieve business requirements within an acceptable level of risk.

A successful candidate will be a creative, collaborative person who likes to be close to the details. They have a good mix of broad and deep technical knowledge and a demonstrated background in network or information security. They have excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences. Most importantly, they like to get inside technology, understanding how things work, when to make subtle change, and when to disrupt the status quo to achieve the right results.

The ideal candidate combines technical acumen with an ability to lead by influence and communicate clearly. Technically, this person will be a security generalist with one or more areas of deep expertise. In their communication, they will clearly articulate risks to technical and non-technical audiences alike. Interpersonally, successful candidates will effectively harmonize disparate opinions while effectively prioritizing risks to guide their partners towards secure solutions.

About the team

Security Abuse Prevention provides Stores businesses with identity and access management solutions and drive resilience against security abuse. We do this through scalable mechanisms, leveraging automation and AI, while ensuring protection of our customer data and privacy. The ISAP Security Engineering team is focused on data collection, correlation, and anomaly detection across the entire WWOps landscape. As an investigator on the team, you will be hunting for anomalous data patterns, attributing the patterns to fraud and abuse TTP (Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures), and working to identify the correct mitigation for these cases.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree

- 3+ years of any combination of the following: threat modeling experience, secure coding, identity management and authentication, software development, cryptography, system administration and network security experience

- Experience applying threat modeling or other risk identification techniques or equivalent

- Experience with programming languages such as Python, Java, C++



Extended Qualifications

- Experience with AWS products and services

- 5+ years of any combination of the following: threat modeling experience, secure coding, identity management and authentication, software development, cryptography, system administration and network security experience

- Experience in e-commerce/on-line companies in fraud/risk control functions.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $212,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
