We blend vision with curiosity and Amazon’s real-world experience to build opinionated, turnkey solutions. Where customers prefer to buy over build, we become their trusted partner with solutions that are no-brainers to buy and easy to use.As part of the Agentic WorkSpaces organization, we empower millions of professional users—spanning enterprises, research institutions, and government agencies—through AWS WorkSpaces, a cloud-based desktop and application management platform. Our mission is to redefine productivity for users navigating complex legacy application environments by deploying agentic AI solutions that bridge the gap between generative AI and real-world enterprise workflows.
We combine Amazon’s deep operational expertise with a relentless focus on innovation to deliver systems that are robust, scalable, and intuitive. The Senior Software Development Engineer (SDE3) will lead the design and development of a centralized data platform and LLM-driven agent ecosystem that captures, processes, analyzes user interactions, and deploys scalable AI capabilities within AWS WorkSpaces. This role balances data engineering, AI/ML infrastructure, and product strategy to empower teams with insights and AI tools that improve customer experience, drive adoption, and optimize legacy workflows.
Key job responsibilities
* Architect and lead development of a scalable data platform to capture and process user interactions in AWS WorkSpaces, enabling data-driven insights for product and AI teams.
* Design data collection strategies aligned with privacy/compliance, and build pipelines to transform raw data into actionable metrics (e.g., feature adoption, pain points).
* Develop and scale LLM-driven agents for legacy application environments, establishing best practices for fine-tuning, evaluation, and deployment via AWS services (e.g., Bedrock, SageMaker).
* Collaborate cross-functionally with AI/research teams to integrate data insights into model training and agent optimization, driving measurable improvements in customer experience.
* Lead roadmap planning, assessing existing capabilities and prioritizing new data/AI initiatives to support evolving product goals.
A day in the life
Agentic WorkSpaces AI is the core science and engineering team for AWS WorkSpaces, building LLM-driven agents that automate tasks in legacy application environments—where modern AI struggles. This SDE3 sits at the intersection of data engineering, AI infrastructure, and product strategy. You will not only design and build the technical foundation for a unified data platform, but also lead the development and scaling of LLM-driven agents that transform how users interact with legacy applications. Your work will require engineering rigor, cross-team communication, and customer empathy—translating technical possibilities into business value while establishing scalable, repeatable processes for innovation.
