AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. The AWS Threat Research Team is responsible for publishing a rich source of AWS home-grown threat intelligence for AWS services and customers. We are looking for talented, creative and passionate Software Development Engineers to help us build, launch, and grow our threat intelligence services.
There is a strong security focus to our team’s charter. Our software enables our security engineers to research threats in innovative ways, aggregate data from internal and external sources, and uses this information to deliver services that protect applications on AWS. Come work with our great team of engineers and be involved in building systems that leverage the scale AWS in the security domain.
Key job responsibilities
- Learn how our products work today, and where we want to take them in the future
- Design and implement new features from specification to final test and automation
- Write a lot of high-quality code and mentor other engineers in the same
- Act as a technical lead, influencing other engineers’ designs and coding deliverables
- Work in an agile development environment, where the backlog gets prioritized frequently
- Have fun in a challenging but rewarding environment
About the team
The Networking Services & Edge Threat Research Team protects Amazon's global infrastructure by identifying, analyzing, and mitigating emerging security threats at the network edge. We combine deep technical expertise in networking, security research, and threat intelligence to safeguard millions of customers and critical services. Our team develops innovative detection systems, conducts advanced threat analysis, and collaborates across Amazon to stay ahead of sophisticated adversaries. We work at the intersection of cutting-edge research and real-world security operations, making immediate impact on one of the world's largest and most complex networks.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
Extended Qualifications
- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
