Description

Join a team on a mission to make Kids+ every child's favorite destination to independently create, explore, and learn — and give parents the confidence to let them. As a Sr SDE on the Kids+ Child-First Experiences team, you'll shape the voice-first and cross-surface experiences that millions of kids ages 3–12 interact with every day, from AI-powered storytelling adventures to conversational content discovery powered by Alexa.

In this role, you'll be the technical anchor for building premium, subscription-defining experiences that span Echo devices, tablets, and web — experiences compelling enough to make Kids+ a must-have for tens of millions of families worldwide. You'll drive the architecture and delivery of child-adapted UIs and voice interactions, navigate the unique intersection of delight and compliance in child-directed design.

Key job responsibilities

1. Own and innovate on voice-first (VUI) and cross-surface (GUI/native/web) experiences for features like Stories with Alexa and Create Your Own Adventure

2. Lead cross-stack delivery across device, app, and server-driven CX implementations — making smart tradeoffs that balance child experience, legal constraints, and platform capabilities

3. Partner across Amazon Kids and Alexa Kids groups to build flagship integrations and conversational content discovery mechanisms

4. Scale the high bar for CX execution across the Kids engineering organization, mentoring teams on child-adaptation best practices

A day in the life

No two days look exactly the same in this role, but most of your time is spent doing what great engineers do best: writing code, building systems, and increasingly, directing AI-assisted development to ship high-quality experiences faster. The remaining time is spent shaping the technical direction of the team, mentoring engineers across multiple partner teams, and influencing how the broader organization builds for kids.

Your immediate mission focuses on our high-impact, voice-driven creation experience for kids. Day-to-day, you'll collaborate closely with product managers, UX designers, and engineers across multiple Alexa and central AI teams.
