Key job responsibilities
- Lead the research, evaluation, and implementation of next-generation Generative AI and Large Language Model (LLM) technologies to enhance developer productivity
- Design and develop scalable, enterprise-grade developer tools leveraging Generative AI capabilities
- Create frameworks and solutions that enable seamless integration of GenAI technologies into existing development workflows
- Collaborate with engineering teams to identify opportunities for AI-driven automation and efficiency improvements
- Establish best practices and guidelines for GenAI tool development and usage across the organization
- Drive adoption of GenAI tools through technical demonstrations, workshops, and documentation
- Mentor fellow engineers on GenAI technologies and implementation strategies
- Evaluate and optimize the performance, security, and cost-effectiveness of AI-powered solutions
Qualifications
- 8+ years of non-internship professional software development experience- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
- 8+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 8+ years of software development experience with 2+ years focusing on AI/ML technologies
- Experience with LLM frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex) and AI platforms (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic)
- Deep understanding of software architecture and system design principles
- Proven track record of building developer tools and platforms
- Excellent communication skills with ability to explain complex technical concepts
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
Extended Qualifications
- Experience with prompt engineering and LLM fine-tuning- Contributions to open-source AI projects
- Background in developer productivity or developer experience roles
- Master's degree in Computer Science or related field

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $151,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
