Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

We are looking for an Satellite Thermal Hardware Specialist who will support Amazon Leo, through preparation and conduction of thermal and thermal-vacuum testing for qualification and acceptance testing of flight hardware.

About the team

Amazon Leo’s Thermal Team is responsible for the thermal design solutions for all components in Amazon Leo’s satellites and customer terminals. We work together with many engineering disciplines (e.g., mechanical, power, electrical, network, manufacturing) to find the design that maximizes performance while minimizing mass, cost and manufacturing complexity, and enabling all components to operate reliably over the satellite’s target lifetime. The team follows all hardware components from conceptual design, detailed analysis, development testing, through launch and flight.



Qualifications

- Associate's degree in related field

- 1 year of experience in thermal testing execution.

- 1 year of experience in data acquisition systems.

- Ability to support Engineering Teams on projects involving mechanical aptitude, problem solving, and feedback.



Extended Qualifications

- Experience conducting and monitoring thermal vacuum testing

- Experience with thermal instrumentation (thermocouples, power supplies, infrared cameras and multimeters)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $73,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $165,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
