AWS is the leading platform for designing and developing applications for the cloud and is growing rapidly with hundreds of thousands of companies in over 190 countries on the platform.The Strategy & Operations team within Worldwide Specialized Sales is seeking a Sales Operations Specialist to build and own mechanisms aimed primarily at driving operational efficiencies. This role will support Sales, Business Development, and Solution Architecture teams. This includes partnering with Sales Operations Managers to implement and manage business processes, systems, tools, analyses, and reporting that optimize business functions to meet organizational goals and initiatives. One of your primary stakeholders will be our Specialized Sales teams. You will provide valuable business insights for sales reps and managers into their accounts, territories, and revenue, which will optimize their productivity and enable them to better serve our external customers. The Sales Operations Specialist plays a critical role in establishing operational excellence and making important business decisions for the organization.
This role leverages a variety of tools such as Excel, Varicent, Anaplan, SQL, Salesforce.com, and numerous internal systems to determine root cause, run analyses, and propose operational solutions. These solutions may involve long-term system and policy changes or may only require short-term fixes applied to correct a particular situation. This is a hands-on role that often identifies, analyzes, and takes action to address core process challenges.
Key job responsibilities
• Create and manage mechanisms to optimize core sales operations functions, such as goals/ KPI reporting, variable compensation, revenue flow, and executive escalations and approvals.
• Become subject matter expert on revenue, pipeline, compensation, and other key metrics used to run the business. Including looking for commonalities across our stakeholders’ business needs, building scalable mechanisms, and leveraging automation to grow our capacity in line with the growth of the business.
• Ensure that systems and processes enable the introduction of new products.
• Advocate for our sales reps and managers with our cross-functional stakeholders and peer operations organizations.
• Support Sales Operations Managers to drive improvements to reporting tools, methods, and processes utilized by the team to increase the availability and granularity of actionable data.
• Partner with other functions in AWS such as Data Warehouse/Business Intelligence, Business Development, Finance, Marketing, Recruiting, and Compensation
Drive simple, scalable solutions to difficult problems, and communicate complex analytical results, both written and verbally.

Qualifications
3+ years of Microsoft Excel experienceBachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
Experience with sales CRM tools such as Salesforce or similar software
Experience defining, refining and implementing sales processes, procedures and policies or equivalent
Extended Qualifications
3+ years of finance, business management and sales operations experienceExperience working within a high-growth, technology company

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $61,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $131,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
