Description

The Amazon Health Services Compliance team is seeking an experienced compliance professional to join the team as a Sr. Risk Manager, leading the Compliance Monitoring and Auditing program. This individual will have the opportunity to design, develop, implement and manage a data-driven program designed to proactively identify and mitigate compliance risk. Amazon Health Services will rely on this individual to execute a monitoring and auditing work plan and support the business in implementing effective compliance controls.

A successful candidate in this role will be a self-starter who is passionate about healthcare compliance and building out this function. This person should also be able to earn trust and effectively collaborate with stakeholders across the company (e.g., pharmacy operations, legal, and internal audit). They must have strong communication and analytical skills to drive strategic monitoring, auditing, and analytics initiatives, including corrective and preventive actions. This individual will desire to learn the current business operations, including pharmacy systems, to develop risk mitigation mechanisms such as monitoring scorecards and predictive analytics.

This individual must be able to think big and be creative to deliver results; work both independently and collaboratively. As part of the AHS Compliance team, this person will be expected to consistently raise the high bar of compliance and operational excellence as we rapidly grow, scale, and innovate and ultimately make our org the most customer-centric Health Program on Earth.

Key job responsibilities

Develop and execute the compliance monitoring and auditing work plans.

Partner with Subject Matter Experts to surface identified risks and support closure of known gaps.

Present monitoring, auditing and analytics reports to internal leadership regarding identified findings, risks, and action plans.

Develop compliance risk mitigation mechanisms, including monitoring scorecards and predictive analytics.

Lead the Compliance Program Self-Assessment process to support building a best-in-class program.

Lead various compliance auditing functions, including policy compliance validation audits, regulatory implementation audits, third-party auditing, and billing audits.

Lead the Amazon Pharmacy exclusion screening process, including professional license/credentialing screening and Office of Inspector General (OIG) List of Excluded Individuals and Entities (LEIE) screening.

Oversee and monitor audits conducted by other Amazon Health Services teams.

A day in the life

Conduct compliance monitoring and auditing per the annual work plan developed based on an enterprise risk assessment.

Assess business processes and systems to identify any additional compliance risks.

Present reports to the leadership team related to identified findings and risks.

Develop monitoring scorecards and analytics to identify trends, including emerging risks.

Propose action plans to comply with applicable laws, regulations, and/or internal policies and procedures.

Monitor the Compliance Program for maturity and effectiveness

Oversee the exclusion screening process and take appropriate action for confirmed exclusions.

Qualifications

- 6+ years of compliance, audit or risk management experience

- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications at an advanced level

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent



Extended Qualifications

- Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification

- Experience leveraging technology and implementing lean principles / Six Sigma methodologies to drive process improvements or equivalent

- Master's degree or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $109,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
