WW Integrated Marketing Systems and Intelligence (WIMSI) is seeking a highly motivated Applied Scientist to develop machine learning solutions that transform how Amazon reaches and engages customers at global scale.In this role, you will partner with scientists, engineers, and product managers across the US and EU to design and deploy models that power personalized, automated marketing across the funnel—from awareness to conversion. You will take ownership of the end-to-end scientific process: from problem framing and data exploration, to model development, evaluation, and deployment in production systems.
You will work on high-impact, customer-facing initiatives that require innovative use of ML and statistical methods, including response prediction, content selection, attribution modeling, and experimentation design. Your ability to combine deep analytical thinking with a strong understanding of scalable systems will be key to delivering measurable business value.
To be successful, you must be comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment, balancing short-term delivery with long-term innovation. You should demonstrate scientific rigor, strong coding and modeling skills, and the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly to both technical and business stakeholders.

WW Integrated Marketing Systems and Intelligence (WIMSI) is seeking a highly motivated Applied Scientist to transform how Amazon reaches and engages customers at global scale. WIMSI’s mission is to build the most measurably effective, creatively impactful, and cross-channel campaigning capabilities possible, with the aim of growing "big-bet" programs, strengthening positive brand perceptions, and increasing long-term free cash flow. As a science team, we're tackling complex challenges in marketing incrementality measurement, optimization and audience segmentation. In this role, you'll collaborate with a diverse team of scientists and economists to build and enhance causal measurement, optimization and prediction models for Amazon's global multi-billion dollar fixed marketing budget. You'll also work closely with various teams to develop scientific roadmaps, drive innovation, and influence key resource allocation decisions.
Key job responsibilities
- Innovating scalable marketing methodologies using causal inference and machine learning.
- Developing interpretable models that provide actionable business insights.
- Collaborating with engineers to automate and scale scientific solutions.
- Engaging with stakeholders to ensure effective adoption of scientific products.
- Presenting findings to the Amazon Science community to promote excellence and knowledge-sharing.
About the team
The Worldwide Integrated Marketing Systems and Intelligence (WIMSI) Tech team builds foundational technology for Amazon’s marketing funnel—from brand-building to product discovery and conversion. With a regional structure that emphasizes speed and autonomy, US teams lead upper-funnel initiatives while EU teams focus on mid/lower funnel and Prime Value. This setup allows for localized agility while building globally scalable solutions. WIMSI combines deep domain expertise with applied science and engineering to deliver high-velocity, customer-centric marketing innovation.
Qualifications
- PhD in a quantitative field, or MS degree and 1+ years of quantitative field research experience- Experience investigating the feasibility of applying scientific principles and concepts to business problems and products
- Experience with data analysis package (R, SAS, Matlab, etc.)
- Experience using SQL databases to manage and analyze large data sets
Extended Qualifications
- PhD in operations research, applied mathematics, theoretical computer science, or equivalent- Experience applying forecasting and data mining techniques

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
