Description

In this position, you'll be responsible for designing and implementing state-of-the-art testing solutions for various programs within the Alexa Customer Journeys ecosystem.
Your role will involve close collaboration with a diverse, cross-functional team including Quality Assurance Engineers, Senior Software Development Engineers in Test, Software Developers, Product Managers, and Software Development Managers. Together, you'll architect and deliver robust, scalable testing solutions, automation frameworks, and mechanisms to ensure the highest quality of our products.

Key job responsibilities
This is a high-impact role that owns organizational level quality improvements driven through highly efficient quality mechanisms and test automation.
As a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer, you will drive new quality and automation initiatives, design advanced test frameworks and processes for testing Alexa device software. You will establish comprehensive quality metrics and best practices for multiple teams within the Alexa Customer Journeys organization. Your innovative thinking will be crucial as you bring new ideas and build or leverage tools as needed. A key aspect of your role will be looking to the future, anticipating the team's needs, and developing strategies to meet them. Your work will be pivotal in shaping the future of quality assurance within the Alexa ecosystem, ensuring we stay at the forefront of delivering exceptional AI experiences.
A day in the life
• Drive organizational-level quality improvements through innovative automation solutions and establish comprehensive quality metrics across Alexa teams, ensuring continuous enhancement of product quality
• Design and develop scalable, state-of-the-art test automation frameworks and reusable components for Alexa devices software testing, optimizing efficiency and coverage
• Lead cross-functional collaboration with development teams, hardware engineers, and product managers to ensure comprehensive testing coverage and seamless integration of quality assurance throughout the product lifecycle
• Establish and evolve testing standards, best practices, and processes while mentoring QA engineers across teams, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning
• Maintain and enhance existing automation frameworks while evaluating, integrating, and championing new testing tools and technologies to keep Alexa at the forefront of QA innovation
• Analyze test results using advanced data analytics techniques, provide actionable insights, and create detailed reports on quality metrics for stakeholders to drive informed decision-making
• Identify future testing needs through industry trend analysis and proactively develop innovative solutions to address upcoming challenges while fostering a culture of forward-thinking and creative problem-solving
• Collaborate with senior leadership to align quality assurance strategies with overall business objectives and product roadmaps
• Lead initiatives to improve test coverage, reduce testing time, and enhance overall product quality through the implementation of latest and advanced methodologies such as AI-driven testing and predictive analytics
Qualifications
- 6+ years of quality assurance engineering experience- 4+ years of delivering test frameworks, test tools, leading the QA projects and initiatives experience
- Knowledge of QA methodology and tools, with demonstrated experience in an QAE role
- Experience in manual testing
- Experience in automation testing
Extended Qualifications
- 2+ years of UI Automation (preferably on mobile platforms) experience- Knowledge of at least one modern object-oriented programming language such as C++, Java, Objective C

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $120,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $207,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
