We want to help change the aerospace industry and close the global digital divide.The Principal Business Operations PM role provides an exciting opportunity to contribute your experience and passion for all things Business Operations in support of Kuiper PXT. This position structures our PXT team and partner teams to drive our yearly calendar of business (such as OP1, Goals, etc.), outline and create needed mechanisms, and drive critical projects. Success in this role requires the ability to navigate Kuiper's complex and fast-paced environment while maintaining rhythm and balance across shifting priorities and an evolving business landscape.
You have exceptional project and program management skills and the ability to collaborate with a multitude of cross-functional stakeholders to deliver meaningful results and impact to our employees. You will be a trusted subject matter expert and have the ability to discern ambiguous requirements to generate clear, concise project plans. You also have excellent writing and editing skills, are data driven, and have the ability to establish a professional, consistent message when discussing your program and projects. You will partner directly with the Project Kuiper HR Director on a daily basis to drive the team to achieving milestones and goals.
You will work closely with several internal stakeholders, including the Kuiper HR Director and HRBPs, Devices & Services (D&S) PXT line teams, Centers of Operational Excellence (COEs), D&S Talent Acquisition, PXT Product teams, Finance, Employee Relations, and Business Operations from Project Kuiper. This is an IC role reporting to the HR Director of Kuiper.
Key job responsibilities
• Own and manage Project Kuiper PXT's strategic calendar, ensuring alignment of critical yearly initiatives (SPS, Goals, Offsites) with higher offices.
• Lead end-to-end project management, from requirements gathering through implementation, creating roadmaps and driving execution of strategic initiatives
• Establish and maintain regular communication cadence with various stakeholders
• Collaborate with the broader D&S PXT Program Management Office and Strategy Team on cross-functional initiatives
• Implement and oversee auditing mechanisms, including goal tracking, escalation management, and program needs assessment.
• Work closely with leaders and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery and requirement fulfillment.
• Monitor and report on key metrics and program health indicators to ensure operational excellence.
• Establish and maintain mechanisms, SOPs, and operating procedures that support Project Kuiper PXT organizational excellence.
• Partner with team PMs and program teams to provide structure and governance to critical programs.
• Drive the planning and execution of operational activities including Business Reviews, Offsites, Headcount Planning, and Budget Management.
• Lead the annual planning process, including headcount allocation and operational expense management.
About the team
The Kuiper PXT team is a highly cross functional team. Given our start up nature, we work very closely across our TA, COE and international teams to present one people view to the business. It's also a very mission-based organization where we get to be an intimate partner to bring that mission alive.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of product/program management experience, with demonstrated scaling of complex programs or products- Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field - work equivalent
- Experience leading cross-functional initiatives with demonstrable business impact
- Excellence in written and verbal communication
- Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality while managing sensitive business information and strategic initiatives
- Track record of data-driven decision making and strategic planning
- Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
Extended Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA), operations, or related field- Experience leading and influencing without direct authority
- Track record of successful stakeholder management at senior levels

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $134,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $222,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
