Description

Amazon Web Services (AWS) Proposals is seeking a growth-minded Sr. Proposal Writer to join the Private Pricing Programs and Experiences (3PX) team under the Global Deal Strategy and Programs (GDSP) organization. AWS Proposals enables pursuits by developing best practices, mechanisms, resources and crafting exceptional customer proposals and documents in response to RFx (Request for Information [RFI], Request for Proposal [RFP], etc.) needs.As a Sr. Proposal Writer, you lead our effort to deliver game-changing solutions to key AWS prospects and customers. You have an exciting opportunity to create strategies to build mindshare and broad use of AWS. Your responsibilities include working with all members of the AWS Sales team to develop winning, innovative proposals, including written responses for RFx as well as unsolicited proposals and white papers. You will leverage your critical thinking, forward-looking vision, and exceptional writing skills to continuously innovate and enhance our content assets. You should be an excellent writer with the ability to convey complex technical cloud solutions, security, and compliance information in an easy-to-read, easy-to-follow, customer-focused format. You must be able understand RFx requirements, synthesize technical discussions, leverage existing content, and create new content.
The ideal candidate is an exceptional writer and self-learner who has strong personal momentum and editorial judgment. You are a writer that can clearly communicate complex topics to a diverse range of technical and non-technical stakeholders. You proactively work to improve the consistency and integration between your team’s solutions and any related systems or artifacts. You are energized by the opportunity learn new topics and can self-drive gaining depth to get grounded quickly. You drive a high bar through your meticulous, impactful output as well as your efficient operations and project management. You habitually work back from the customers’ needs and pain points in defining, prioritizing, and inspecting work. You are focused and organized and can deliver on time and at a high bar in a fast-paced environment.
Key job responsibilities
Lead proposal responses to RFx opportunities, working cross-functionally across stakeholders.
Write, assemble, and/or polish RFx content, including reviewing final documents for editing and content completeness.
Work under pressure to meet tight deadlines with compelling responses.
Define writing projects and determine priorities such as developing and maintaining RFxAIDs and standard content, and writing and publishing whitepapers, 6-pagers, and other documents.
Synthesize your research of pre-approved content and your newly developed, tailored content into compelling responses.
Identify key audience segments and their specific needs and conduct thorough analysis to uncover content gaps and opportunities to enhance content effectiveness.
Validate RFP response requirements and ensure proposal compliance, and act as the primary interface for RFx response efforts.
Support development of content library and seller enablement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent- Experience in written and verbal communication skills to communicate with technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership
- 5+ years of experience in proposal writing, content strategy, and development
- 5+ years creating content in response to emerging requirements while leveraging approved content and approaches
- Experience in technology related sales, cloud and/or business development
Extended Qualifications
- Experience using content publishing tools to write, format, manage and publish high-quality content- Master or Advanced Degree in English, Communications, Content Strategy, or a related field
- Experience with proposal content management systems
- Exceptional editorial background with exceptional proofreading and content creation skills
- Experience in driving complex large-scale content projects end to end independently and by collaborating with other teams
- Experience in developing or editing multimedia (images, videos)

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
