Description

The Sr. Program Manager, Central Selection will be responsible for business line ownership , communicating requirements, and setting strategy for continuously improving tools, science and methodology used to execute a robust selection strategy across WWGS. The Sr. PM will own the strategy and framework to enable improved, more automated selection decisions, including regional/local selection. This role works closely with Category, Product, Tech, and BI Teams to build tools (i.e. Multi-metric ranking models), drive improvements, discover opportunities and present recommendations to business partners and management. This role combines strategic thinking with analytical rigor to create and implement location-specific selection frameworks that optimize both customer experience and operational efficiency.

The ideal candidate will have strong business and product sense combined with a solid understanding of technical concepts. You can operate independently, think strategically, analyze data, influence others, and provide strong customer service support. You must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. High judgment, analytical talent, and exceptional communications are essential to success in this role.

Key job responsibilities

 Develop and execute location-driven selection strategies using competitor benchmarking, capacity inputs, sales analysis, and market data to inform market-specific selection across WWGS grocery banners

 Drive automation and leverage AI Tools to simplify processes and improve operational efficiency

 Set strategy and communicate requirements for multi-metric ranking models that evaluate items based on mission-driven criteria, ensuring each product earns its place through demonstrable customer value

 Set strategy and communicate requirements for competitive intelligence frameworks to benchmark against regional markets while identifying opportunities for differentiation

 Create SOP and mechanisms to track, manage, and optimize regional-specific selection

 Partner with Category, Product, Tech, and BI teams to implement and enhance selection strategy tools

 Track, optimize, and report to senior leadership on selection workflow improvements and automation



Qualifications

- 5+ years of program or project management experience

- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

- Bachelor's degree, or 5+ years of professional or military experience in process improvement, business analysis, or program management

- Advanced Excel proficiency and experience with Microsoft Access or SQL

- Proven track record designing and implementing process automation solutions using AI/ML tools to drive operational efficiency

- Demonstrated ability to manage complex, cross-functional projects with significant business impact

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to influence without authority

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Retail industry experience, specifically in the space of selection strategy



Extended Qualifications

- Grocery retail industry experience

- SQL proficiency and experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, QuickSight) or business intelligence platforms

- Background in retail, grocery, or e-commerce operations

- Experience partnering with technical teams on communicating requirements for tool development and Agile methodologies

- Experience with selection strategy, category management, or space planning

- Track record delivering scalable solutions that drive operational efficiency across multiple teams

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
