We are looking for a Program Manager to drive operational efficiency and increase the effectiveness and consistency of our Innovation and Scaling programs around the world for SMGS Ops. Key areas of focus include: strategic planning, business management functions such as developing/collecting business insights. A successful candidate will have the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and have a passion for inventing and simplifying processes. This position requires strong business judgment, problem solving, and excellent communication skills. A track record of delivering results in a fast paced, dynamic environment is a must. Being self-driven, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities are all key to success.

Key job responsibilities

- Conduct thorough assessments of existing processes, systems, and workflows to identify areas for enhancement and efficiency gains

- Perform and document Root Cause Analyses

- Design and implement more streamlined, standardized, and automated processes and mechanisms based on best practices

- Oversee the execution of initiatives aimed at reducing friction and increasing productivity across the organization

- Coordinate cross-functional efforts, manage project timelines and milestones, and track key performance metrics

- Research industry benchmarks and successful strategies employed by other organizations to identify and spearhead the adoption of proven best practices

- Continuously monitor the impact of implemented solutions, making iterative adjustments to ensure ongoing effectiveness and maximum ROI

A day in the life

A day in the life of the SMGS Ops Program Manager would involve leading cross-functional teams to identify process improvements, design more efficient workflows, and drive the execution of initiatives that increase productivity across the organization. They would leverage data and industry best practices to optimize existing systems, coordinate project timelines and milestones, and continuously monitor the impact of implemented solutions, making iterative adjustments as needed. Effective stakeholder management, strong communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment are key to success in this role.

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. The AWS Global Support team interacts with leading companies and believes that world-class support is critical to customer success. AWS Support also partners with a global list of customers that are building mission-critical applications on top of AWS services.



Qualifications

- 5+ years of program or project management experience

- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

- Knowledge of Excel at an intermediate level (e.g., pivot tables & charts, multiple criteria lookups, nested logical/IF formulas, data cleansing, array formulas, etc.)



Extended Qualifications

- 2+ years of driving process improvements experience

- Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field

- Lean Six-Sigma Green Belt or higher

- Scrum Master

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $104,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
