Amazon Design Excellence (ADX) , an internal team aiming to elevate the impact of design at Amazon and our reputation as a top destination for design talent, is seeking a talented, creative, and experienced Sr. Program Manager to join our exciting team working to help create thriving conditions for design and creative excellence at Amazon. We are an innovative, cross-organization, customer-obsessed team, empowering groups and individuals across Amazon to strengthen, connect, and evolve Amazon to be the best home for design and creative professionals on the planet.

As a Sr. Program Manager, you will have the opportunity to define and drive the ADX program team’s overall approach to delivering unique program’s for our internal design community. You will inspect and evolve our existing mechanisms for product development and go-to-market, create new mechanisms, and extend them to span the entire portfolio of ADX’s products and solutions.

Key job responsibilities

- Develop and manage strategic initiatives, roadmaps, artifacts, and metrics to increase Design Maturity at Amazon

- Oversee and Implement programs to drive broader and deeper engagement throughout Amazon’s rapidly growing design and creative community

- Partner with subject matter experts, cross-functional partners, and senior design leaders, to deliver programs that meet the professional and leadership needs of design and creative talent as well as strategically elevate the function of design

- Establish frameworks to measure program effectiveness and impact, provide new insights, and allow for regular updates to our most senior leadership

- Work independently with little guidance to build a robust suite of design health, culture, and innovation initiatives

- Facilitate remote and in-person sessions to build support for your solutions through partnerships with key stakeholders

- Communicate regularly and clearly with program participants

- Contribute to strategic planning and business cases to increase support and clarity for design priorities



Qualifications

- 6+ years of program or project management experience

- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

- 5+ years experience in working with large design organizations

- Experience applying program management skills to design, develop, and maintain design related programs

- Project management, reporting, and communication skills

- Experience influencing and building relationships

- Demonstrated experience synthesizing data, identifying root causes, and developing actionable solutions to solve pain points and improve the employee experience

- Demonstrated experience fostering a design community



Extended Qualifications

- 2+ years of driving process improvements experience

- Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field

- Ability to balance employee experience, innovation, and business needs

- Strong bias for action including the ability to juggle multiple priorities and effectively deliver in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

- Experience working globally, company-wide, and with senior leaders

- Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment

- Demonstrated sense of ownership, urgency, and drive

- Post-graduate education in design, business, or related field or experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $104,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
