Description

The Alexa Business Telemetry & Decision Science team (B-Tel for short) builds telemetry to report and analyze how customers engage with Alexa and how engagement translates to value for the business. Our products include metrics definition and instrumentation, data products consumed by Alexa BI and analytics teams, and models that predict trends and identify drivers of business outcomes. This Program Manager has the opportunity to improve how we translate raw data into data products, models, and insights that decision-makers can use and trust. This is an excellent opportunity for someone highly conversant in data and technology, who wants to move toward technical program management.

If you want to be at the forefront of thinking holistically about Alexa customer engagement and how it drives long-term value for Amazon, this is the role for you.

Key job responsibilities

The program for this role focuses on expanding coverage of our data products, improving ease of use by data consumers, increasing our agility to change with the business, and scaling maintenance and upkeep activity. The Program Manager will work with a cross-functional team of BI, Data, and Software Engineers to define goals and deliver on them. While the program scope is fairly well defined, this PM is expected to demonstrate independence and initiative in meeting program objectives. While the Program Manager is not expected to create technical designs or code, this role does require building and demonstrating a strong understanding of data engineering, data products, and process automation.

Specific responsibilities include:

• Determine how to measure and set baselines and targets for program objectives

• Analyze processes, sprints, and artifacts to identify

• Plan and track deliverables across BI, Data, and Software Engineers within B-Tel and partner teams

• Resolve or escalate issues that delay or block progress toward objectives

• Represent the program in business reviews within the team and beyond (including to Alexa VPs)

About the team
