Description
You are the strategic right hand to the Vice President of Agentic AI for Business — a fast-paced organization building at the frontier of agentic AI technology at AWS. Your job is to be the connective tissue of the entire org: ensuring the VP’s vision and strategy translates into crisp execution, that cross-functional teams stay aligned, that external positioning is sharp, and that customer engagements are rigorously prepared and followed through. You don’t just manage the rhythm of business — you set the pace. You synthesize complex signals into clear recommendations. You build mechanisms that scale. You walk into rooms — leadership forums, customer boardrooms, analyst briefings — and make things happen. Where others see ambiguity, you see an operating model waiting to be built. You lead the overall strategic priorities and goals for the business, partnering directly with the VP’s leadership team, Sales VPs, partner organizations, and executive stakeholders across AWS to ensure the Amazon Quick go-to-market plan succeeds and the organization delivers on its most important commitments.
This is a Principal-level role that demands strong business acumen, the ability to strategically think months ahead, and the judgment to operate with complete independence. You will contribute to and shape strategic documents (OP1/OP2 narratives, senior leadership reviews), coordinate inputs from across the organization, maintain relationships with field and Sales leadership, and prepare the VP for high-stakes engagements — from customer boardrooms to re:Invent keynotes. The Agentic AI for Business organization is building the next generation of intelligent work products — including Amazon Quick and agentic automation solutions — that help enterprise customers reimagine how work gets done.
Key job responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Business Operations
- Lead the VP’s strategic priorities end-to-end: own the operating rhythm (WBR cadence, OP1/OP2 planning cycles, leadership team offsites, goal-tracking mechanisms) and ensure the organization is always executing against the right priorities with clear accountability.
- Help drive customer engagements leading sales and business growth development.
- Review operations of the product engineering team, ensure that resources are mapped per the set strategy, vision and customer needs to close large deals.
- Contribute to and shape the org’s most important strategic documents — OP narratives, senior leadership reviews, CEO-level updates, and Board input requests — coordinating inputs from GMs, engineering leaders, and product teams to produce rigorous, executive-grade narratives.
- Provide strategic context and preparation for the VP's highest-stakes engagements: synthesize background, decision points, stakeholder dynamics, and recommended positions so the VP walks into key meetings and reviews fully prepared with a point of view.
- Look months ahead: maintain a forward-looking calendar of high-stakes moments (speaking engagements, leadership reviews, customer summits, product launches, analyst briefings) and drive preparation timelines backward to ensure readiness well in advance.
- Drive follow-through on the VP's behalf: track decisions and action items from leadership forums, ensure accountable owners are delivering, and escalate to the VP when strategic intervention is needed.
- Provide the VP with strategic input on organizational decisions (team structure, investment prioritization, talent deployment) — bringing data, context, and recommendations so the VP can make informed calls in partnership with HR and finance.
- Act as a trusted advisor: synthesize signals from across the org (team sentiment, competitive dynamics, product trajectory, GTM feedback, customer feedback) into concise, actionable recommendations.
Stakeholder Relationships & Cross-Org Influence
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with Sales VPs and field leadership to ensure the Amazon Quick go-to-market plan is successful — staying close to pipeline health, field feedback, and competitive positioning.
- Partner directly with the VP’s leadership team (GMs, Directors) as a peer-level strategic operator — driving alignment, resolving cross-team conflicts, and ensuring shared priorities are delivered.
- Serve as a key liaison between Agentic AI for Business and adjacent AWS organizations (WWSO, Solutions Architecture, Professional Services, Agentic AI Foundation, AWS Transform, Partner org) to drive alignment and eliminate redundant work.
- Coordinate with the Executive Assistant and operational support teams to ensure a seamless executive office — you own the strategic substance, they own logistics, and together you create an environment where the VP can focus on the highest-leverage work.
Communications & Thought Leadership
- Own the VP's communications strategy — the integrated narrative that positions Agentic AI for Business (Amazon Quick, intelligent automation, agentic workflows) as the industry-leading voice in enterprise AI. You ensure the VP's external presence is consistent, compelling, and strategically timed.
- Coordinate with the keynote team, PR, analyst relations (AR), and marketing counterparts to ensure messaging alignment, manage media opportunities, and amplify product launches tied to major events (re:Invent keynotes, AWS Summits, industry conferences). You provide strategic direction and review — ensuring narratives reflect the VP's point of view and org priorities.
- Maintain a rolling content calendar synchronized to product milestones, customer wins, analyst briefings, and industry events — ensuring proactive (not reactive) thought leadership.
- Partner with PR on the VP's external content presence (blog posts, social media, press briefings) — providing strategic input, reviewing drafts, and ensuring content aligns with the broader thought leadership calendar.
- Manage inbound speaking and executive program requests, triaging and prioritizing opportunities months in advance that align with the VP’s strategic positioning goals.
Customer Engagement & Executive Sponsorships
- Own the end-to-end lifecycle of VP-level customer engagements: Executive Briefing Center (EBC) sessions, executive sponsorship programs, partner summits, and strategic on-site visits with customers.
- Prepare meticulously crafted customer briefing packages — briefing documents, tailored presentation decks, demo scripts, and leave-behind materials — in close coordination with field sales, solutions architects, and product teams. Ensure the VP walks into every customer meeting fully prepared with context on the account, attendees, competitive landscape, and strategic opportunity.
- Manage the pre-brief and post-engagement workflow: coordinate pre-brief meetings with account teams, capture commitments and follow-ups during the engagement, and drive accountability on deliverables afterward (POC timelines, deployment milestones, case study development).
- Build and maintain a customer engagement pipeline tracker — monitoring relationship health, engagement frequency, and strategic alignment across the VP’s executive sponsorship portfolio.
