Description

As a Program Manager within NA Last Mile Engineering, you will drive high-impact programs that shape how our organization operates. You'll balance strategic Program Management Office (PMO) leadership with hands-on execution, designing frameworks that scale, leading cross-functional initiatives, and delivering measurable results that improve customer experience and business outcomes.

A successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing a portfolio of projects with NA Last Mile Engineering. Your role will ensure these projects align with our strategic objectives by managing project progress, tracking key metrics, ensuring project management standards, and facilitating communication between stakeholders. You will work across technology and operations teams to drive innovation, prioritize initiatives, and optimize processes that positively impact customer experience while supporting business growth. A key aspect of your role will be providing executive-level reporting, all while maintaining alignment with Amazon's goals and vision. This role will champion the adoption of emerging technologies — including AI and automation tools — to standardize PMO processes, drive organizational efficiency, and enable engineering teams to work smarter.

Key job responsibilities

Program Leadership & Execution

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across process automation systems and engineering practices using data and metrics to identify optimization opportunities

• Design and implement PMO methodologies, project playbooks, and governance frameworks across Last Mile Engineering

• Establish consistent project management practices for scope, risk, dependencies, and change control

• Coordinate with various internal engineering teams, vendors, and operations to establish realistic deliverables and manage dependencies

• Identify and implement emerging technologies (AI/ML, advanced analytics) to increase organizational efficiency

Executive Communication & Stakeholder Management

• Lead the development and maintenance of executive-level business review documentation (MBRs and QBRs), with focus on performance metrics and strategic alignment

• Manage transparent status reporting and communication plans for all stakeholder levels

• Manage relationships with engineering leadership, equipment vendors, and cross-functional teams, driving team to Deliver Results

• Provide regular updates on program progress, performance metrics, and optimization results

• Lead technical reviews and design validation sessions with engineering teams

AI & Automation Enablement

• Champion adoption of AI tools and automation technologies to standardize PMO workflows and reporting

• Identify opportunities to leverage emerging technologies for process efficiency across the engineering team

• Support the organization’s broader AI adoption goals by driving tool enablement within the team

A day in the life

You will manage the rhythm of Design Engineering programs by keeping projects on track, stakeholders informed, and leadership equipped with decision-ready information. Working closely with engineering leads and cross-functional partners, you will define project requirements, monitor progress, and manage risks. You will synthesize complex program information into clear executive summaries and business review materials, while maintaining communication channels that keep all stakeholders aligned on priorities, changes, and impacts.



Qualifications

- 5+ years of program or project management experience

- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

- Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization



Extended Qualifications

- 2+ years of driving process improvements experience

- Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field

- Knowledge of general AI tools

- Experience designing, implementing, and scaling upskilling, apprenticeship, or workforce development programs across large-scale operations or corporate environments, including forecasting workforce needs and leveraging analytics to drive program decisions

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
