Description
Amazon Logistics is seeking an experienced Senior Program Manager to join the North America Last Mile Fleet Planning & Optimization team within the Global Fleet Products organization. In this role, you will drive end-to-end improvement of fleet utilization and reduce dependency on expensive third-party (3P) rental fleet — by monitoring execution of fleet allocation activities and measuring performance against weekly and monthly published fleet plans. You will lead programs that systematically improve how Amazon's branded fleet is deployed, rebalanced, and utilized across the NA last mile network. You will be the connective tissue between fleet planning outputs and operational reality — translating weekly fleet plans into actionable allocations, monitoring execution across the network, and communicating progress, risks, and optimization opportunities to senior leadership on a regular cadence.
Key job responsibilities
• Fleet Utilization Optimization: Lead programs designed to improve branded fleet utilization across the last mile network — identifying underutilized assets, driving rebalancing actions, and reducing reliance on costly 3P rental fleet as a substitute for available branded capacity.
• Rental Fleet Reduction Programs: Monitor and manage initiatives aimed at reducing 3P rental fleet usage by ensuring branded fleet is fully deployed, rebalanced proactively, and available where needed. Track rental spend and utilization trends, and drive cross-functional actions to close gaps.
• Plan Execution & Monitoring: Track execution against published fleet plans on a continuous basis, identifying gaps, risks, and deviations early. Monitor whether rebalancing actions are being executed, whether vehicles are moving as planned.
• Stakeholder Coordination: Partner closely with Regional Fleet Managers (RFMs), DSPs, OTR teams, Tiger Teams, and Fleet Planning to align on allocation decisions and resolve blockers through structured weekly checkpoints and ad hoc escalations.
• Leadership Reporting: Develop and deliver clear, data-driven reporting and narratives to senior leadership on fleet allocation status, utilization performance, rental fleet trends, execution progress, risks, and mitigation actions.
• Program Governance: Establish and maintain program rhythms, mechanisms, and documentation to support consistent, scalable fleet allocation and optimization execution across programs including Deployment, Redeployment, LMR andVariable Fleet
