Have a passion for food and profitability optimization? Looking to shape the future of grocery margin management at scale? The Business Enablement team within Worldwide Grocery Stores (WWGS) Central Merchandising Operations is seeking an experienced Sr. Program Manager to lead profitability strategy development and enablement across our omnichannel grocery business.This role is highly strategic and analytical—looking for someone who can develop comprehensive profitability frameworks, establish NetPPM optimization approaches, and enable category teams to make holistic decisions that balance pricing, promotions, cost management, and shrink to optimize long-term margin health. You will own building strategy documents that define the vision for profitability optimization across WWGS, determine business impact, and influence cross-functional roadmaps to enable strategic execution.
The Business Enablement team serves as the cornerstone of WWGS's unified retail strategy. In this role, you will establish the NetPPM frameworks and guidelines that enable category leaders to prioritize long-term margin health over short-term volume gains—a core tenet of the organization. You will work cross-functionally with senior stakeholders across Category Management, Finance, VX (Vendor Experience), Core Pricing, and Analytics teams to drive strategic alignment on profitability optimization.
Key job responsibilities
- Design and own comprehensive NetPPM strategy frameworks that guide category teams in optimizing profitability through integrated pricing, promotional, cost, and shrink management decisions
- Develop profitability metrics frameworks and measurement approaches, partnering with Finance and Analytics teams to implement NetPPM dashboards and reporting capabilities
- Establish guidelines for how category teams should balance pricing competitiveness, promotional investment, vendor cost negotiations, and shrink management to optimize long-term margin health
- Translate strategic profitability initiatives into clearly documented BRDs for technical teams, influencing Finance systems and Analytics roadmaps to enable NetPPM visibility and optimization
- Lead cross-functional strategic coordination between Category Management, Finance, and VX teams to ensure cost negotiations and pricing strategies align with profitability objectives
- Partner with Finance team to develop NetPPM target-setting methodologies and frameworks that balance growth objectives with margin health requirements
- Craft compelling strategy documents and senior leadership updates communicating NetPPM strategy vision and business impact
- Drive adoption of NetPPM optimization frameworks across category teams, measuring success through margin health improvements and stakeholder satisfaction
- Identify opportunities to automate NetPPM analysis and decision-support, working with technical partners to simplify profitability optimization at scale
- Establish governance frameworks ensuring category decisions prioritize long-term margin health over short-term volume gains
- Partner with VX team to ensure vendor funding data accuracy and enable cost negotiation strategies that support NetPPM optimization
- Communicate effectively across teams and levels, synthesizing complex profitability trade-offs into clear strategic recommendations for senior leadership
Qualifications
- 5+ years of program or project management experience- 3+ years of developing program strategies and plans, diving execution, and influencing senior stakeholders experience
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
- Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams
Extended Qualifications
- 3+ years of driving process improvements experience- 3+ years of delivering cross functional projects experience
- Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization
- Experience defining pricing and/or promotion strategy for a retail business

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
