Description

Amazon is looking for a talented Program Manager to build import and export risk management solutions for international business expansions. You will support these business launches from the prototype phase of new products and technology through global launch by executing on a broad range of global trade compliance matters. In executing this role, you will work directly with business, legal, logistics, supply chain, tax, transfer pricing, finance, and engineering teams, Amazon’s global network of trade and compliance teams, and a variety of external Amazon partners.

As a PM, you will be responsible for managing the life-cycle of complex cross-functional risk programs across Amazon organizations independently. You will define the risk programs from the ground up, set objectives, and drive improvements to your space that are quantified with metrics. In executing your program, you will partner with internal and external stakeholders including business teams, public policy, trade legal and regulators to interpret and apply regulations to business processes. You will oversee the rollout of controls and audits, including testing and measuring their effectiveness. Your solutions will be flexible and capable of scaling across various customized technologies, business models/supply chain arcs, and country regulatory regimes.

In building risk programs, the PM will draw from their strong subject matter expertise in classification, valuation, country of origin, special trade programs and export controls. You will stay informed on regulations and technologies relevant to your space and bring them into your risk management programs. You will also draw from your strong program management skills, presenting organized plans that clearly articulate the problem statement, the recommended solution and milestones along the way. You will clearly identify timelines and owners, and drive progress at the appropriate speed to reduce risk to some of the world's most cutting-edge technology teams.

To successfully build your trade compliance solutions across cross-functional teams, you will earn trust with stakeholders by learning about and understanding their business lines and products. You will drive alignment with project sponsors (leaders) and cross-functional stakeholders by providing near and long term considerations and impacts, and highlight recommended trade-offs and priorities. When confronted with discordant views, you will drive the best way forward and build consensus.

In making decisions, you will act quickly to balance risk and customer experience. You will test assumptions by getting feedback from the right input providers across the company and reviewing metrics and benchmarks. You will work with business intelligence engineers and technology teams to design, build and track key performance indicators and systems.

The PM will be responsible for communicating risks, proposals, regulatory updates and strategies to internal and external leaders and stakeholders in meetings and documents. Clear and compelling communication is critical to success in this role.

As a leader within the Global Trade Services team, you will help to develop and hire team capabilities and mentor and train colleagues. You will embody the Amazon Leadership Principles and lead with empathy and good judgement.

A day in the life

- working with business partners to understand their cross-border launch roadmaps and associated impact to Amazon

- breakdown the business requirements and draft cross-border compliance requirements

- determine resource requirements and plan to support business launches

- work with internal business, GTS and operational partners(GSRC) to build launch implementation plan and execute against it

- highlight any project risks, build mitigation plans and align with leadership and stakeholders as needed

- provide visibility into launch roadmaps, operational planning to leadership via Amazon documents, flash reports and project plans

About the team

We are a global team who manage Amazon's cross border retail, non-inventory, selection, and business model expansions.



Qualifications

- 4+ years of compliance program management, legal, governance, audit, risk/loss prevention, or equivalent experience

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent

- Experience handling confidential information



Extended Qualifications

- 3+ years of program requirements definition and data and metrics leveraging to drive improvements experience

- Professional auditing qualification, or similar risk or compliance credentials

- Experience with SQL and Excel

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $66,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $142,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
