Description

Amazon’s Marketplace services over 2 million Sellers disrupting traditional notions of retail marketplace and connecting millions of businesses, big and small, to millions of Customers within the Amazon.com marketplace. The Marketplace business exceeds 40% of the total Amazon.com sales and each year, tens of thousands of businesses join the marketplace adding millions of new products. Shipping is critical to customer satisfaction in physical e-commerce, and it is the second most costly component of the business, after the cost of the product itself. As a result, this role will have an impact on customer experience, on Seller sales growth, and on profitability by focusing on carrier negotiations, carrier integrations into Seller Central, and delivering results through improved financial results for Sellers. This role will be expected to manage multiple carriers, concurrently, including working with internal Amazon teams. Successful candidates will have a strong track-record of managing multiple million-dollar accounts, delivering successful negotiations at significant scale ($200M or more in total spend), involving senior leadership with external vendors, and providing thought leadership within transportation. To be successful in this role you will need to have superior analytical, communication, presentation and organizational skills. Ability to create models/ tools for profitability-analysis to measure and improve the cost structure by product group and program is a must.

This leader will be expected to contribute significantly to overall transportation strategy and ensure that carrier relationships and transportation products support the long-term strategy. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated the ability to innovate for Sellers with improved solutions from transportation providers. This person will also be a very strong general manager, with experience managing complex and cross functional teams. To be successful in this role you will need to have superior analytical, communication, presentation and organizational skills.

Key job responsibilities

Identify potential new transportation partners or opportunities with existing carrier accounts to implement the MFN strategy for Amazon.

Manage the relationship with key carrier accounts including the day-to-day performance management, driving and monitoring the status of key initiatives and driving compliance for all operational performance and quality SLAs.

Conduct periodic reviews with senior Carrier Management teams developing insights and action plans to achieve target KPIs

Represent carriers in all internal forums and work cross-functionally with technology, operations, finance, retail etc. to ensure MFN strategy is broadly in alignment with carrier goals.



Qualifications

- 5+ years of program or project management experience

- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership



Extended Qualifications

- 2+ years of driving process improvements experience

- Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $104,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
