Description
Amazon is looking for a Program Manager to join the AWS Data Center Engineering (DCE) Team.We own the design and operational availability for AWS data centers. Our space spans many different engineering and operational disciplines; this includes: (1) Delivering globally scaled project-based data center designs, inclusive of all mechanical, electrical, structural, and security systems. (2) Providing Field Engineering support at data centers across 26 regions, and “Edge” sites used for networking and content delivery. (3) Designing, delivering, and sustaining innovative and capacity enabling infrastructure products, inclusive of physical security and media destruction devices, which increase availability and deliver multi-billion-dollar benefits to the business. (4) Developing product and engineering features to enable primary and backup power generation for data center facilities. (5) Retrofitting and remediating the existing fleet to enable the highest levels of availability. (6) Managing key operational availability programs, including planned and un-planned maintenance activities; as well as the establishment of equipment specific reliability and quality performance standards, and proactive partnership with equipment providers to perform root cause analyses and drive performance to these standards.
As a Program Manager for DCE, you will partner with the DCE Senior Business Manager to drive standardization across the org, including reporting, metrics, and executive deliverables. You will exercise deep expertise on all processes, variables, and tooling that impact Planning for DCE. The Program Manager must earn trust with partner teams and multiple deployment teams in order to expand mechanisms and strategies beyond DCE and ensure the full scope of needs are captured on behalf of the sub-division. Such interactions may include arranging and facilitating off-site events with senior executives to advance Global DCE initiatives, coordinating business activities with partners in Talent Acquisition and Human Resources, and collaborating with partners external to AWS.
The ideal candidates will have excellent analytical abilities, outstanding business acumen and judgment, intense curiosity, and superior written and verbal communication skills. They will have a strong bias toward data driven decision making. They will be a self-starter; comfortable with ambiguity; able to think big and be creative, while exercising strong judgment and good instincts to be right a lot. Key job responsibilities
• Based upon the strategic direction set with the DCE Senior Business Manager, you are responsible for working with DCE Business Managers to craft measurable goals to successfully execute on the DCE strategy. In addition, you are responsible for implementing monthly tracking mechanisms to monitor and report on status of delivery for the subject goals, and ensure clear reporting on the most critical goals executive leadership.
• You develop quarterly analyses, reporting, and recommendations on DCE employee productivity, which includes analyses of inputs/metrics that influence productivity, performance against such inputs/metrics, and recommendations to ensure DCE meets productivity goals.
• You administer mechanisms to ensure DCE staff meet expectations relative to, among other things, appropriate expense transactions and remediation of software risks.
• You develop analyses, recommendations, and related mechanisms to assess DCE employee experience, and drive actions to continuously raise the bar for a positive experience.

Qualifications
- 3+ years of program or project management experience- 3+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience
- Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams
Extended Qualifications
- 3+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience- 3+ years of driving process improvements experience
- Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization
- Experience building processes, project management, and schedules

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $66,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $142,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
