Description
The Worldwide Sustainability (WWS) organization capitalizes on Amazon’s scale and speed to build a more resilient and sustainable company. We manage our social and environmental impacts globally, and drive solutions that enable our customers, businesses, and the world to become more sustainable.As part of the Worldwide Environment team, Amazon's Worldwide Carbon team is dedicated to working across the company with our business units to make operational changes to accelerate solutions and decarbonize our businesses in service of The Climate Pledge.
The Worldwide Carbon Team looking for a Sr. Program Manager, Carbon Strategy to manage projects and transactions across Amazon’s value chain. This role will collaborate closely with Amazon’s carbon footprint and governance teams, and with business unit sustainability subject matter experts.
The ideal candidate will have a background in carbon program management and/or market based mechanisms, with experience executing transactions, and knowledge of carbon accounting principles.
Key job responsibilities
- Manage project lifecycle, including the project approval process and contracts/transactions
- Identify and source project opportunities, with a focus on in-value chain emissions
- Manage contracting and project reviews
- Send regular project pipeline stakeholder communications / status reports
- Collect project documentation in support of science standards and assurance requirements

Qualifications
- Masters degree in discipline relevant to carbon markets, carbon accounting, or equivalent practical experience- 5+ years complex and cross-functional project management experience
- Familiarity with GHG accounting best practices, particularly the GHGP
- Proven track record of building trust with business partners and implementing a customer service model
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data and topics into actionable insights and programs

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $125,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $207,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
