Description

The Amazon Private Brands (APB) Sustainability team is looking for an experienced program manager to facilitate embedding critical operations and solutions into APB to make sustainability ā€œbusiness as usual.ā€ The Amazon Private Brands Sustainability team is responsible for setting the environmental and social sustainability strategy and operational plan for the business. Our long-term goals are to meet The Climate Pledge to be net-zero carbon by 2040 and continuously raise the social responsibility bar across Amazon Private Brands' supply chain. Amazon Private Brands invests in building products that deliver superior value and sustainability to customers, and this role is instrumental in developing novel ways to communicate with customers about these environmental and social issues, and scaling the most effective tactics.

As the xAPB-S Sr. Program Manager will be the uniting programmatic force to provide a horizontal view across all of our sub-teams, with the goals of 1) ensuring we have one ā€œAPB-S voiceā€ into certain partner teams (specifically Product Families) where appropriate, 2) building tools and mechanisms to deeply embed sustainability in the organizationā€™s decision making processes and tools, and 3) improving APB-S team transparency and cohesion. This role aims to strike a balance of high level program management (harmonizing across our own sub-teams) and internal/external customer engagement (determining more optimal ways for us to engage with partners).

This role requires skills to influence across a global organization, manage a high level of ambiguity, and make high-judgement decisions. The ideal candidate will be highly-analytical, creative, articulate, influential, and be able to invent new solutions that are simple and effective. You will work with sustainability specialists across fields (social responsibility, environmental), sourcing managers, product developers, technical teams, and compliance risk managers. You will be responsible for building and maintaining programs that embed sustainability practices into APBā€™s processes and decision making, maintain certification compliance , supplier communication and data collection, and ensure APB upholds sustainability standards across itā€™s product assortment.

Key job responsibilities

* Lead programs for APB new product development and new initiatives, including being the POC for all sustainability attributes

* Main POC with operational compliance and data collection teams

* Coordinating audits of flagship certifications, FSC, Textile Exchange

* Maintaining APB Sustainability tech roadmap and sending operational flash

* Manage relationship with APB product families (Hardlines, Softlines, Consumables) through existing channels (weekly check ins) and manage shared goals with those teams, audit and update mechanisms as necessary

* Manage Voice of Team channels with LT (monthly Connections reviews, retro sessions, etc.)

* Lead ā€˜one voiceā€™ communication with PFs and stakeholder teams



Qualifications

- 5+ years of program or project management experience

- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

- Bachelor's degree



Extended Qualifications

- 2+ years of driving process improvements experience

- Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $104,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
