Description

The AI agent era is here, and you'll define how the market understands it.

Amazon Bedrock and AgentCore represent one of the fastest-growing product areas in AWS history, powering the next generation of AI-native applications and autonomous agents for the world's largest enterprises. We're looking for a Principal Product Marketing Manager - Tech to serve as the senior technical marketing authority for this portfolio: the person who defines the category narrative, builds the positioning architecture, and sets the craft standard that the broader PMM team executes against.

This is a category-defining IC role. You'll solve the hardest positioning problems in the portfolio, create the frameworks others build on, and serve as the external voice customers and analysts associate with AWS's agentic AI vision. Your work will directly shape how CxOs, developers, and the broader market perceive the most consequential platform shift since cloud.

You'll operate at the intersection of product strategy, market shaping, and executive storytelling, partnering with VPs, GMs, and Distinguished Engineers across Amazon Bedrock, Amazon Bedrock AgentCore, and Strands Agents (our open-source agent SDK).

Why This Role

* Category authority. Your job is to be the deepest, sharpest thinker on agentic AI positioning in AWS.

* Strategic influence through craft. Direct partnership with VPs and GMs who treat exceptional marketing thinking as a first-class input to product strategy.

* Keynote-level visibility. re:Invent mainstage, Gartner/Forrester interactions, CEO-level customer conversations, and AWS leadership narratives.

* Multiplier impact. Mentor PMMs, establish quality bars, and build reusable frameworks that scale your thinking beyond what one person could ship alone.

* Greenfield opportunity. This category is being defined in real time. You'll have the ambiguity (and the autonomy) to shape it.

Key job responsibilities

* Define the category narrative. Establish the positioning architecture, competitive frameworks, and market vocabulary for AWS's agentic AI portfolio. This is the scaffolding the rest of the team builds on.

* Solve the hardest positioning problems. Take on the products and capabilities where the "right way to talk about this" doesn't yet exist, translating deep architectural complexity into mental models that move markets.

* Shape product strategy through market insight. Synthesize customer patterns, competitive dynamics, analyst perspectives, and usage data into strategic recommendations that influence VP-level roadmap decisions across multiple product teams.

* Serve as the leading external voice. Represent AWS's agentic AI vision in keynotes, analyst briefings (Gartner, Forrester, IDC), and executive customer engagements. You are the named expert for this category.

* Elevate the team's craft. Set quality bars for positioning, messaging, and launch execution. Coach PMMs on the "how." Create playbooks and templates that encode your expertise into scalable assets.

* Lead cross-portfolio launches. Orchestrate high-visibility launches that span multiple product teams, require senior leadership alignment, and set new benchmarks for impact.

* Drive category-level adoption strategy. Develop cross-product adoption narratives that connect builder journeys from experimentation through production, working across developer relations, solutions architecture, field enablement, and partner teams.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience

- 10+ years in product marketing, technical marketing, developer relations, or product management for technical/infrastructure products

- Track record of defining product categories or establishing new competitive positions (not just marketing existing products)

- Demonstrated ability to influence senior leadership (VP+) on product or go-to-market strategy through the quality of your thinking, not positional authority

- History of high-visibility external presence: keynotes, analyst engagements, or executive thought leadership

Extended Qualifications

- Experience marketing AI/ML, developer platforms, or cloud infrastructure at the category level

- Track record of shaping analyst perceptions (Gartner MQs, Forrester Waves, or equivalent)

- Experience mentoring PMMs or raising the craft bar for a marketing team (through influence, not direct management)

- Deep familiarity with the AI agent/agentic AI landscape: architectures, orchestration patterns, evaluation frameworks, and deployment models

- Demonstrated ability to operate in high-ambiguity environments where the category boundaries are still being defined

- Strong analytical orientation: you use data to validate hypotheses, measure category penetration, and defend strategic choices

- MBA or advanced technical degree
