What will you do?

As a Principal Product Manager for Pricing Intelligence at Amazon Shipping, you'll pioneer the creation of innovative systems that drive profitable decision-making across our global network. You'll architect solutions that provide unprecedented insights into price elasticity and customer value perception, ensuring we optimize pricing strategies. Your work will empower business teams to confidently assess pricing opportunities and avoid turning away valuable business due to incomplete understanding of customer willingness to pay.

Who are you?

You are an innovative product leader with deep expertise in pricing intelligence, elasticity modeling, and data-driven decision systems. You have a proven track record of developing sophisticated pricing capabilities that drive significant business impact through improved accuracy and market responsiveness. As this position involves regular interaction with senior leadership (VP+), you're comfortable influencing at the highest levels while also providing hands-on guidance to business, analytics, and technical teams.

The ideal candidate combines analytical rigor with business acumen, possessing both the strategic vision to identify untapped pricing optimization opportunities and the execution skills to bring those insights to life through actionable tools and systems. You're a strong owner, right a lot, and have demonstrated success building products that transform how businesses understand and leverage pricing data for decision-making. You excel at translating complex market dynamics into clear frameworks, driving alignment across diverse stakeholders, and making principled decisions that optimize for long-term value creation.

Key job responsibilities

Pricing Intelligence

• Architect systems that provide visibility into variables influencing customer purchasing decisions

• Design and build foundational frameworks that enable accurate assessment of price elasticity across diverse scenarios

• Create modeling capabilities from the ground up to ensure we capture full customer willingness to pay

• Establish validation methodologies to assess and improve the accuracy of newly developed pricing intelligence frameworks

Data Integration & Analytics

• Design innovative modeling approaches to translate customer signals into actionable pricing insights

• Establish frameworks for identifying and addressing pricing data gaps or inconsistencies

Simulation & Scenario Analysis

• Design simulation capabilities that enable business teams to evaluate the pricing implications of different market scenarios

• Develop frameworks for measuring the financial impact of pricing strategy changes

Product Innovation

• Define the multi-year vision for pricing intelligence capabilities that support Amazon Shipping's extraordinary growth targets

• Lead the development of tools and systems that transform complex pricing analyses into intuitive, actionable insights

• Drive continuous innovation in how pricing elasticity data is captured, analyzed, and applied across the business



Qualifications

- 10+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience

- 10+ years of blending product and program management skills to execute strategic initiatives about process creation, standardization, and improvement experience

- Bachelor's degree

- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition

- Experience with end to end product delivery

- Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product

- Experience as a product manager or owner

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $145,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $240,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
