AWS Field Experiences AFX - Fixed

Job description

Amazon Web Services (AWS) provides companies of all sizes with an infrastructure web services platform in the cloud (“Cloud Computing”). With AWS you can requisition compute power, storage, and many other services – gaining access to a suite of elastic IT infrastructure services as your business demands them. AWS is the leading platform for designing and developing applications for the cloud and is growing rapidly with hundreds of thousands of companies in over 190 countries on the platform.

Join us in building on AWS, for AWS!

The Sales, Marketing, and Global Services Organizations' AWS Investments team is looking for a passionate, innovative, results-oriented Senior Technical Product Manager to define and drive the strategy and direction for services, making it simpler for our field team to manage, maintain and operate at scale. We will provide products and solutions that help give our talented selling and marketing teams “superpowers” that let them focus on the customer and helping them drive their business. We’re handling massive scale, providing strategic data that drives the AWS business internally, and supporting one of the largest field sales organizations in the world.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an exceptional Senior Product Manager - Technical to own the product lifecycle for interconnected investment management platforms that are fundamental to AWS's go-to-market strategy. This role requires a unique combination of deep technical expertise, financial systems knowledge, and the ability to navigate complex organizational dynamics across AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services.

Key job responsibilities

What You'll Own

You will be the single-threaded owner responsible for managing the complete product lifecycle of critical services to size deals determining the pricing (or how much credits, cash, discounts) we are willing to provide to win the deal. You’ll own products to configure how you want to distribute the benefits the customers are eligible for, then flow this data into an agreement or contract.

What You'll Do

Product Strategy & Execution

• Define and own the product roadmap and feature priorities for three interconnected products, contributing to OP1/OP2 narratives and engineering organization roadmaps

• Manage the complete product lifecycle from concept through delivery, working independently with limited guidance

• Define problems we're solving, desired customer experience, vision, tenets, and product strategy for complex financial systems

• Make smart trade-offs between time, effort, and features while ensuring products meet compliance and operational requirements

• Drive product discussions with executives (technical and non-technical), creating product materials and training content

Technical Leadership

• Understand the end-to-end architecture of Amazon Financial Systems, Payment networks, Commerce Platform, and their integration points

• Define APIs, algorithms, and identify where architectural changes are needed to create the right customer and business experience

• Recognize when technical design limits performance, scale, extensibility, and our ability to innovate for customers

• Articulate when new services are needed (and when they are not), working with engineering teams across organizational boundaries

• Assess emerging technologies and their application to investment management use cases

Cross-Organizational Collaboration

• Work with business stakeholders across Sales, Marketing, Global Services, Finance, Legal, and Compliance teams

• Navigate complex integrations with Go-To-Market tools, Salesforce, AWS Marketplace, and core sales processes

• Distill clear requirements from diverse sets of customers, partners, vendors, and regional business entities

• Build consensus across technical and business strategies, aligning stakeholders on approach and prioritization

• Partner with TPMs, engineering teams, and business leaders to ensure cohesive end-to-end solutions

Business Impact & Metrics

• Develop product plans with clear, measurable success criteria

• Define mechanisms and metrics (KPIs, funnels, conversion, awareness) to track product adoption and performance

• Impact product brand, customer experience, technical design trade-offs, and organizational business goals

• Establish and simplify processes to ensure products meet customer needs through effective roadmap prioritization

• Create audit mechanisms for metrics, reporting, and evaluation standards

Risk Management & Compliance

• Proactively mitigate risks and reduce exposure to classic failure modes in financial systems

• Ensure products meet financial, legal, and regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions

• Define showstoppers related to product quality, ensuring issues are resolved in the right order

• Manage post-launch support, triage, and issue management for mission-critical financial systems

Key Competencies

Scope and Influence

• Manages multiple products with major features

• Influences strategic direction (business and technology) and engineering organization priorities

• Impacts team engineering roadmaps (internal/external), segment adoption, and organizational business goals

Communication

• Drives product discussions including vision, goals, tenets, narratives, MBR/QBR, and status updates with executives

• Contributes to OP1 planning processes

• Creates product materials and sales/training content

• Produces clear, concise documents including PR/FAQs and technical specifications

Execution

• Works to deliver the right product through tactical and strategic approaches

• Defines features, business, and technology strategy

• Aligns stakeholders across complex organizational structures

• Makes smart trade-offs and may own launch/issue response

• Mentors others and performs PMT assessments
