Key job responsibilities

We're seeking a dynamic, entrepreneurial Principal Product Manager - Technical to drive innovation for startups across AWS. You will be the voice of the customer and spearhead Customer Research, talking to startups from universities to all the latest unicorns, as well as the leading VC Investors across all Geos. In this role, you'll own and define the product vision for startup-focused tools and services, and work alongside the Startups Engineering teams and AWS Service teams to bring that idea to life. This position has a high level of visibility, so you will need to be able to communicate clearly and compellingly at all levels of the company. Additionally, you will be responsible for measuring business impact by diving deep into metrics and customer inputs. You should have a positive attitude and strong work ethic; you will work fast and smart, and adapt and iterate quickly.

This role will require coordination across many internal and external teams and will be visible at the highest levels of the company. You’ll work with our customers, investor partners, software vendors, and operational stakeholders to spearhead the definition of new product capabilities through expertly crafted PRFAQs.

A day in the life

Given the scope and high level of ownership that Principal Technical Product Managers have, rarely are two days the same. On a weekly basis, you will be working with customers, both startups, and Investors, to learn about the problems they are trying to solve, validating feedback with internal stakeholders across Sales, Marketing, and Engineering, writing PRFAQs, iterating on product decisions with the AWS Service teams and the ACE Engineering team, working with partners in solution architecture, legal, documentation, etc., thinking big to envision what is next, and exhibiting learn and be curious for different technologies, growth strategies, and market trends.
Our customers are developers and technical decision makers, so you will be using code, technical documentation, and architecture diagrams to understand problems and communicate solutions.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree

- 10+ years of technical product or program management experience

- Experience in technical product management, program management or engineering

- Experience working with and influencing senior level stakeholders

- Experience as a strong leader who can prioritize well, communicate clearly and effectively influence across cross-functional teams

- Experience owning feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product



Extended Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, analytics, mathematics, statistics, IT or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $161,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $279,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
