Amazon Transportation collectively represents some of the most critical components of Amazon’s first-class transportation network. This organization oversees global middle and last mile products, spanning B2B and B2C, critical partners, enterprise and SMB customers across numerous teams. Creative Garage (CG) is the central brand and creative solutions team supporting the portfolio of global transportation products. This includes—but is not limited to—Amazon Freight, Amazon Relay, Amazon Freight Partner, Amazon Shipping, Amazon Flex, Amazon Hub Delivery, and Delivery Service partner. The team focuses on creating world-class brand and creative solutions to drive brand awareness, recognition, acquisition and engagement with global transportation brands through the human stories behind logistics. The team builds and owns the global brands and the creative expression of these brands throughout the customer journey. We work closely with global marketing and customer insights business partners to test and learn creative, ensuring our design solutions resonate with the target audience. We have high standards and strive to continuously raise the bar across all creative elements.

The Principal, Creative Studio Business Operations Manager is a critical leadership role on the team. We are looking for a numbers-oriented leader who loves and understands how to quantify impact on creative and marketing teams. This person will own the overarching business operations of the global creative team, including, but not limited to, end-to-end management of annual planning, roadmap prioritization, doc writing and weekly and quarterly business reviews. They will define annual team goals, and measurement methodologies to track and report on progress. They own and lead cross-organizational initiatives to integrate team progress and performance into wider integrated roadmaps.

This person will also develop and lead the brand and creative AI-roadmap, defining opportunities to automate recurring pain points to improve team productivity and efficiency. This includes ownership of the Creative Garage AI-roadmap, as well as influence and management of pan-Amazon partnerships with AI for design teams to collaborate, knowledge share and be a key AI leader across Amazon design.

They will be responsible for building effective partnerships with executive leaders across multiple global business partners as well as within the creative team. They will own driving cross-functional team alignment across multiple business partners and external agencies. They demonstrate the highest level of ownership and bias for action, strong strategic thinking and problem solving, and maintain clear and concise communication across all levels of leadership. They are solutions focused, and able to create or improve upon existing structure and mechanisms to increase efficiency and frugality.

This is a high visibility, fast-paced role. While this role has a defined short-term roadmap today, the right candidate will be comfortable working with ambiguity, is highly entrepreneurial and is able to develop and execute their own roadmap for success with minimal oversight. Comfort in quantifying impact, numbers and storytelling will be critical for success.

Key job responsibilities

Annual Planning:

-Own the Creative Garage operational planning, including cross-business prioritization, resource allocation and capacity planning.

-Own writing high-impact business documents, including clear strategy, measurement and impact of creative efforts.

-Define annual goals, illustrating the team’s total OPEX productivity and efficiency impact across initiatives such as global production, marketing asset development, and AI-implementation.

-Own quantifying impact of Creative Garage’s efforts, efficiency, and impact. Work directly with key business stakeholders to measure impact against product line goals and VP level goals.

Communications:

-Keep a pulse on the day-to-day of the Studio, managing monthly and quarterly communications to executive leadership to illustrate the story and impact of CG (business reviews, newsletters, success stories, etc).

-Lead project alignment meetings and creative reviews with senior leaders and stakeholders.

-Able to represent the collective studio to executive leadership, with the ability to speak in detail and high-level strategy on studio priorities.

Team Operations:

-Work closely with Sr. CPMs and creative leaders to understand business priorities, opportunities and pain points to influence team roadmap.

-Partner with Sr. CPMs and external partners to build, test and implement an AI-powered creative operations system, moving from singular AI-solutions to a true agentic workflow.

-Anticipate bottlenecks, remove roadblocks and provide escalation management.

-Balance business needs with technical constraints.

-Promote a sense of transparency, visibility, and community among our team.

-Support business operations and people operations related needs as required.

AI in Design:

-Own the Creative Garage AI roadmap. This includes program management of project execution, identifying new opportunities, and quantifying impact (current or projected) of recommended solutions.

-Collaborate pan-Amazon with other design and marketing teams to join efforts, adopting AI solutions where they exist, or creating AI solutions at scale across Amazon design teams

Leadership Influence:

-This is a very high-visibility, high-impact role. Experience and comfort presenting to, working and negotiating with executive leadership will be paramount to success in this role.

Note: It’s important to note that this role is NOT a producer, project manager or creative role. This role will not project manage global production (photo and video shoots), and will not serve as a producer for these shoots.

Qualifications

- Experience managing creative (internal team of designers, copywriters, external agencies and freelancers)

- 7+ years owning and managing marketing or creative team goals, ROI, productivity and efficiency metrics

- 7+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience



Extended Qualifications

- Experience in creating process improvements with automation and analysis, or experience delivering results for large, cross-functional initiatives/projects

- Experience communicating and presenting to senior leadership

- Experience presenting complex ideas in writing in the form of authoring white papers, proposals, or other formal strategy documents

- 5+ years people management preferred, but not required. This role is an individual contributor role, with the potential to move into a manager role in the future.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $138,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $229,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
