Description
Project Kuiper is Amazon's initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit communications satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to under-served communities around the earth.The Kuiper Security team is seeking a detail-oriented, results-driven, customer-centric Inventory Accountability & Security Audit Specialist with experience in pre-production development and manufacturing of semiconductor integrated circuit (IC) chips and fully assembled devices. The ideal candidate possesses deep knowledge of all phases of the end-to-end semiconductor IC and device product lifecycle, development methodologies, and manufacturing flows/dependencies/cycle-times. They combine hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment, extensive knowledge of inventory management, program management, and understand product/material movement throughout the supply chain.
The successful candidate will be responsible for executing inventory control procedures, conducting regular audits, and implementing security compliance measures across Kuiper's global network of third-party locations, including contract manufacturers and critical suppliers. This role requires vigilance, proactive risk management, and a deep commitment to protecting Amazon's intellectual property and brand integrity.
Key job responsibilities
In this role you will:
• Execute inventory control procedures for New Product Introduction (NPI) and Mass-Production (MP)
• Conduct regular inventory and security audits, reconciling discrepancies and ensuring compliance
• Track and document compliance at Amazon Kuiper Facilities and 3rd Party locations through the entire manufacturing lifecycle
• Develop and implement security standards for prototype management and handling of sensitive intellectual property
• Monitor and report on inventory metrics, security trends, and potential risks
• Oversee security protocols and compliance with Amazon's standards at third-party locations
• Lead responses to security incidents, coordinating with relevant stakeholders and implementing corrective actions
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security measures into broader business processes

The Kuiper Security Team is responsible for protecting critical assets, intellectual property, and inventory throughout Kuiper's development and manufacturing processes. As part of Amazon's broader Devices and Services division, we implement security solutions and inventory management practices for one of Amazon's most innovative initiatives.
Our team operates at the intersection of space technology, hardware security, inventory management, and supply chain security. We work closely with hardware engineers, product teams, and operations personnel to ensure the security, integrity, and accountability of our satellite and ground station components. We implement robust control systems and processes that maintain Kuiper's security and compliance standards while supporting the program's ambitious manufacturing and deployment goals.

Qualifications
Basic qualifications:• 8+ years in Security
• 3+ years in inventory management in the consumer products and/or semiconductor area
• 5+ years leading and conducting audit programs
• Proven experience in brand protection and intellectual property protection
• Experience with inventory control systems and ERP platforms
• Demonstrated experience in supply chain operations and logistics
• Ability to work on-site and in an office location with 20-40% domestic travel and 20% international travel
Export Control Requirement:
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Extended Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Law Enforcement, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field• Knowledge of agile product development and life-cycle management process
• Experience leading cross-functional teams to deliver products and online services on tight deadlines
• Proficiency in inventory management software and tools (SAP, Oracle)
• Experience with semiconductor manufacturing processes and NPI workflows
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards related to inventory management and security
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with data interpretation capabilities
• Demonstrated project management skills with focus on risk mitigation
• Experience working with contract manufacturers and managing third-party relationships
• Certification in inventory management, supply chain, security (e.g., CPP, CPI, CISM), or related field
• Knowledge of export control regulations and compliance
• Experience in high-risk environments or with critical suppliers and contract manufacturers
• TAPA Certified Auditor (FSR, TSR)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $91,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $196,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
