The successful candidate will have experience in end-to-end nuclear power project development process from design, regulatory licensing, site permitting, constructability and operations.
The candidate should be highly skilled in the design and operation of both utility-scale and small modular nuclear power plants, understanding design and constructability of various reactor designs inclusive of both the nuclear steam supply system and balance of plant. Within Amazon, the candidate will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team across energy, engineering, construction, environmental, legal, policy, public relations, Operations, and community engagement teams. The candidate must navigate the permitting and regulatory processes to help AWS deliver capacity-enabling projects. They must be able to drive key stakeholders across Amazon teams and also with utilities and energy companies to deliver such projects.
Key job responsibilities
-Define the mission and vision for datacenter nuclear power generation.
-Own and prioritize the product roadmap by gaining buy in from key stakeholders such as service leadership, engineering, energy, legal, and go-to-market teams
-Establish and oversee robust rhythms of business for driving growth and visibility
-Influence key external partners such as OEMs and developers to design operationally efficient and safe modular nuclear plants and associated balance of plant delivering carbon free capacity to our growing business.
-Build internal and external nuclear product and fuel strategy roadmaps, influencing clean energy strategy for AWS data centers
-Evaluate and deliver carbon free power generation solutions by working with internal and external global partners.
-Drive due-diligence on specific power projects and recommendations to senior leadership on specific power solutions that meet AWS’s needs
-Build relationships with senior leaders and other stakeholders in energy, power and utilities companies, regulatory bodies and DoE.
-Be a passionate self-starter
Qualifications
- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition- Experience technical product management
- Bachelor's degree in math/statistics/engineering or other equivalent quantitative discipline
- 5+ years in a senior or principal role with a history of technically guiding engineering teams and defining nuclear roadmaps
- Understanding of the NRC, US ANSI, UL, NERC, FERC, NESC and European EN & IEC standards.
Extended Qualifications
- Experience working directly with Engineers on product enhancements- Experience in project management methodologies, business analysis, or process improvement
- Master’s degree or higher in Nuclear Engineering • Senior Reactor Operator license or Shift Technical Advisor experience.
- 15+ years of relevant design experience deploying utility scale power plants across the United States.
- Direct experience with the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of generation plants, nuclear plants, energy storage assets, and substations.
- Experience with fast-track design/build projects and or multiple significant upgrade projects.
- Capable of working in a highly fast-paced, ambiguous environment, managing conflicting priorities and deliverables

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $161,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $279,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
