Join the Worldwide Specialist Organization (WWSO) Strategic Accounts team as a Senior Manager leading the Data Architecture for Agentic Systems practice.The Worldwide Specialist Organization (WWSO) is part of AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS), which is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing enterprise-level customers. We work backwards from our customers' most complex, business-critical problems to build and execute go-to-market plans that turn AWS ideas into multi-billion-dollar businesses. WWSO teams include technical business development, specialist, and technical solutions architecture. As part of WWSO, you'll provide expertise across the entire customer life cycle, from accelerating the adoption of established businesses to developing ideas for new services. Strategic Accounts represents AWS's most important customer relationships, encompassing recognized industry leaders across digital native businesses, large ISV/SaaS providers, and large enterprises. These customers are collaborative partners who drive innovation and shape the future of cloud services, with sophisticated technical expertise and global operations requiring an enhanced support model.
In this role, you will lead a team of Solutions Architects focused on modernizing data architectures across Strategic Accounts to enable AI and Agentic system readiness. You will own the full scope of the Data Architecture Modernization pillar with accountability for business results and customer outcomes. This is a player-coach role where you will set strategic direction and develop your team while remaining hands-on with customers and technology when the situation demands it.
Key job responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Solutions Architects with a mix of generalist and specialist skills, fostering a culture of customer obsession, technical excellence, and continuous learning.
- Own pipeline generation, revenue delivery, and customer modernization goals across Strategic Accounts over a 3-year planning horizon.
- Engage VP and CTO-level customer executives to establish trusted advisor relationships, shape AI readiness roadmaps, and accelerate data modernization decisions.
- Define and execute go-to-market strategy including migration acceleration, open standards adoption, and AI-ready data patterns.
- Drive customer adoption of modern data architectures encompassing unified data governance, data interoperability, and contextual AI capabilities including vector storage, Retrieval Augmented Generation, and agentic data access patterns.
- Collaborate with AWS product teams to influence service roadmaps based on Strategic Accounts customer feedback, ensuring enterprise-scale readiness for new service launches.
- Build and scale reusable patterns, practices, and reference architectures that accelerate customer time-to-value and enable ProServe and partner-led implementations.
- Develop and strengthen AWS presence in open source communities, particularly Apache Iceberg, driving thought leadership through events, content, and community building.
- Partner with consulting firms and technology partners to jointly develop and deliver data modernization strategies for Strategic Accounts customers.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or above in computer science, computer engineering, or related field- 5+ years of senior leadership, or 10+ years of progressive technology implementation experience
- 5+ years of managing and developing high performance teams experience
- 5+ years of direct customer engagement, with a focus on support to senior executives (Vice President and C-level) experience
- 5+ years of generating new opportunities with strong focus on pipeline tracking and deal execution through entire sales cycle experience
- 6+ years of experience with enterprise data architectures including at least two of the following: relational databases, analytics platforms, data lakes, data governance, data migration
Extended Qualifications
- Experience working with consulting partners through solution alignment, account management, product management, program management and business development engagements- Knowledge of presentations and whiteboarding skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with internal and external executives, IT management, and developers
- AWS Professional level certification, or experience in cloud based solution (AWS or equivalent), system, network and operating system
- Master's degree or above in computer science, engineering, analytics, mathematics, statistics, IT or equivalent
- Deep expertise in one or more of the following: Apache Iceberg and open table formats, vector databases and AI/ML data pipelines, database migration and modernization, real-time data processing and streaming architectures
- Broad working knowledge across AWS data services including S3, Aurora, DynamoDB, OpenSearch, SageMaker, Glue, Athena, and EMR
- Experience with AI and agentic system data requirements including Retrieval Augmented Generation, vector storage, knowledge graphs, and Model Context Protocol
- Established track record of building and scaling open source community engagement and thought leadership programs
- Familiarity with enterprise data governance frameworks, regulatory compliance requirements including GDPR and CCPA, and data quality management practices

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
