Amazon's Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) organization's mission is to build world-class, general-purpose intelligence services that benefit every Amazon business and humanity. In AGI security, we make sure our AGI services and all applications that rely on them earn and keep our customers' trust. We partner with scientists, AGI builders, and teams across Amazon to ensure our models and GenAI applications are built securely by default.

We are looking for an experienced software development leader to join the Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) Business Security Team. As a senior software development leader, you will own building and managing a team of software development engineers to build innovative tools and services, fostering a strong team culture.

We're looking for a leader that's passionate about the potential of Generative AI, and building a high performing software engineering team. Ideally you have a track record of raising the security bar for high quality technology products and services, in a hyper-growth environment where priorities shift quickly. You should know how to prioritize, communicate clearly and compellingly, and understand how to drive outcomes and excellence with a strong team.

A Software Engineering Manager must foster constructive dialogue and seek resolution when confronted with discordant views. Leaders in this role are expected to participate fully in the planning of their team's work and constantly seek opportunities for process improvement. A successful candidate will need a combination of troubleshooting, technical, and communication skills, as well as the ability to handle a mix of disparate tasks which will include ideation, design, and delivery of AGI security-related tools and services. This role will provide career growth opportunities as you gain new software and security skills in the course of your duties, particularly in the rapidly evolving fields of AGI and responsible AI.

Key job responsibilities

AGI Security Tools and Services: Building and operating foundational tools to accelerate delivery of AGI and AI services for customers around the world.

Data Security: Ensuring the protection and integrity of data used in AGI systems, including implementing robust data governance policies and security protocols.

Responsible AI: Developing and enforcing ethical guidelines for AI development and deployment, focusing on fairness, transparency, and accountability in AGI applications.

Operational Measurements: Establishing and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the security, efficiency, and effectiveness of AGI security.

Qualifications

- 10+ years of engineering experience

- 5+ years of engineering team management experience

- 10+ years of planning, designing, developing and delivering consumer software experience

- Experience partnering with product or program management teams

- Experience managing multiple concurrent programs, projects and development teams in an Agile environment



Extended Qualifications

- Experience partnering with product and program management teams

- Experience designing and developing large scale, high-traffic applications

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
