The Worldwide Sustainability External Relations Team is guided by our vision to establish Amazon as the most recognizable and respected global sustainability leader. The candidate must show good judgment and continually improve their level of knowledge about Amazon’s business and our intersection with our commitment to The Climate Pledge.

The Worldwide Sustainability External Relations Team is seeking Creative Marketing Lead with a passion for sustainability to develop top-level programming and storytelling for the Worldwide Sustainability organization. The Creative Marketing Lead will support customer communications strategy and execution, deliver top-notch written material, and project manage cross-functional teams to create standard-setting content that will enhance and advance the leadership position of Amazon Sustainability worldwide.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in content creation, project management, organization, and managing a multitude of stakeholder voices. The role requires meticulous attention to detail, a collaborative working style, and ability to articulate the most complex technical concepts in terms that make sense to customers, press, and the public.

Key job responsibilities

- Influence and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to accelerate delivery of Amazon’s 2040 net zero carbon commitment

- Lead customer communication and content strategy for the annual Sustainability Report, from ideation and delivery, to measurement and evaluation

- Lead storytelling across Worldwide Sustainability, including but not limited to: editorial planning, content creation, mechanizing the process for planning and reviews, and working cross-functionally with partner teams to deliver bar-raising stories

- Support high-profile marketing moments and events, such as Earth Day and Climate Week

- Support advocacy work with Worldwide Sustainability teams

- Develop robust strategies that utilize a variety of external and internal channels

Qualifications

- 5+ years’ marketing or communications experience

- 5+ years’ experience working with products and tools including websites, email programs, content management systems, and mobile apps

- Experience delivering clear and concise marketing and communications plans from concept to completion

- Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability, Communications, Marketing, or a related field



Extended Qualifications

- Sustainability, climate, environmental and/or social responsibility expertise

- Excellent time management, resource management, and planning skills

- Superior oral and written communication skills

- Passionate about process and an innate attention to detail

- Experience creating content for a variety of media – emails, videos, presentations, and graphics

- Ability to pull and analyze data from various data points

- Ability to manage time and juggle multiple priorities to execute high quality deliverables

- Willingness to travel and ability to work independently and autonomously

- Experience working in a fast-paced, highly cross-functional organization

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $108,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
