Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager of Software Development to lead a multi-team engineering organization responsible for building the technology that reimagines finance at scale. In this role, you will own a software area of strategic importance — defining a multi-year vision, coordinating the work of multiple engineering teams, and delivering platforms that provide fast, accurate financial insights enabling critical business decisions across Amazon's global retail operations. You will manage leaders, set engineering standards, and drive innovation at the intersection of data architecture, financial systems, and GenAI-native solutions.

Key job responsibilities

• Lead a multi-team engineering organization as a leader of leaders.

• Build and sustain a high-performing, inclusive engineering culture where leaders and engineers thrive, grow, and deliver consistently without requiring direct oversight.

• Drive architectural decisions for scalable, high-integrity data platforms processing billions of financial transactions across hundreds of global business lines.

• Ensure software quality, security, compliance, and operational excellence across all systems; establish engineering standards teams aspire to meet.

• Partner deeply with Finance, FP&A, Controllership, and Accounting leaders to define and execute a technology roadmap that transforms financial planning, reporting, and governance.

• Influence IPAT's organizational planning process (OP1/OP2), setting goals that deliver against both engineering excellence and business outcomes.

• Communicate complex technical strategies clearly — in narratives, PR/FAQs, and strategic documents — to senior leadership.

• Ensure compliance with SOX controls, financial regulations, and audit requirements through robust, well-designed technical solutions.
