Description
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Manager to lead North America Logistics operations within AWS Cloud Logistics (ACL). This role owns the end-to-end physical supply chain for AWS hardware—from vendor origins through customs brokerage, warehousing, and multi-modal transportation (ocean, air, and over-the-road)—delivering critical infrastructure components to manufacturing sites and data centers across the continent.You will build and scale a world-class logistics organization that ensures AWS hardware arrives on time, in full, and at optimal cost to support the fastest-growing cloud infrastructure on the planet. You will operate at the intersection of supply chain strategy, operational excellence, and cross-functional influence to enable AWS capacity expansion
Key job responsibilities
Warehousing & Distribution
• Lead strategy and operations for the North America warehouse network supporting AWS hardware staging, kitting, configuration, and distribution
• Drive capacity planning, lease negotiations, and facility expansion/rationalization decisions
• Optimize warehouse utilization, inventory accuracy, and throughput to support manufacturing and data center delivery timelines
• Implement warehouse management systems (WMS), automation, and process improvements to scale operations
• Manage 3PL relationships, SLAs, and cost performance across the distribution network
Transportation — Ocean, Air & Over-the-Road
• Own multi-modal transportation strategy and execution across ocean freight, air cargo, and domestic trucking (FTL/LTL) for AWS hardware shipments
• Manage carrier procurement, rate negotiations, and mode optimization to balance cost, speed, and reliability
• Oversee first-mile (vendor to port), international linehaul (ocean/air), and last-mile delivery to manufacturing sites and data centers
• Drive transportation visibility, track & trace, and exception management capabilities
• Build contingency and surge capacity plans for peak demand, new site launches, and supply chain disruptions
Strategic Leadership & Operational Excellence
• Develop and own the 3-year North America logistics strategy aligned to AWS capacity expansion roadmap
• Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of logistics managers and program managers
• Own P&L accountability for NA logistics spend (transportation, warehousing, brokerage)
• Establish and report on KPIs: on-time delivery, cost per unit shipped, transit time, inventory turns, and customer satisfaction
• Drive mechanisms (WBR, MBR, QBR) for operational cadence, escalation, and continuous improvement
• Partner cross-functionally with Hardware Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, Finance, and Data Center Operations
Qualifications
- 10+ years of relevant management experience in datacenter operations, facility engineering operations, information technology critical environment facilities, advanced high volume manufacturing, datacenter build-outs and scaling, or similar experienceExtended Qualifications
- Master's degree, or MBA in supply chain management, operations, engineering, analytics or related field- Experience in tech, electronics, consumer goods, or other fast-paced, technology-driven businesses
- Experience in trade compliance, customs operations, customs brokerage, supply chain, logistics or similar
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
- Experience working with fast-moving, high-performance teams and driving innovative solutions tailored to unique business environments
- • Experience with TMS, WMS, and supply chain visibility/control tower platforms
- • Data-driven approach to decision-making; fluency in SQL, Excel modeling, or BI tools
- • Knowledge of sustainability and carbon reduction initiatives in freight/logistics
- • Experience with VMI (Vendor Managed Inventory), EDI integration, and supply chain digitization
- • Familiarity with data center construction logistics or critical infrastructure delivery

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
